I just called and got it too!

Looks like I call just a little too early yesterday.

 

I already filled out the DS261

 

Will call them back shortly to see if they can review it and unlock the fee.

 

Mexico waiting times are very long so I want to get everything rolling.

So I'm on the phone right now and they're telling me its not possible I filled it out cause they haven't sent me the instructions yet

Ugh, they said they checked with a supervisor and were told that I need to wait for the official notice from them in order to update my status and unlock the fee.

Booo. Let me know how long it takes for yours to arrive. I know my lawyer won't send the payment until they get that in their office.

I was told the same thing.  I have to wait for the official letter.  The woman on the phone said there is something they have to review before they can send an invoice. I don't remember what it was because it was super long.  I don't have to choose an agent since I went through an agent so my attorney is automatically my agent.  I asked her time frame for how long it would take and she said she did not know.

I was not able to pay the fees until I received the letter.  I was also only able to pay one at a time.  After paying the AOS fee and it cleared the IV payment was available.  After they both cleared I was able to print the mailing sheets.

How long between when you got notification that your petition was sent to DOS and when you actually got the letter from NVC?

I called again and got the same thing, that stinks, cause in the past on the forums they said you can just call and do it, but I guess that isn't true anymore.

They said my case just got into the system today. Really hope I don't have to wait 4 weeks, even 2 weeks would suck.

It took a few weeks from when USCIS said they sent it to NVC before they confirmed receipt.  After that I just kept calling until I got my case and invoice number.  Even after that I think it was about one week from the date (that is included in your case number) before I could pay the fees.

You won't have to wait that long. It will take about 2-4 days at most. You should be getting the welcome letter email soon as well. They reviewed mine before I received any type of welcome letter. Maybe try again tomorrow and Friday.

I don't think it will take that long hopefully. I set up my agent last night.  

 

I am trying to expedite our case due to medical reasons. I just sent the email with proof attached. I thought I would get an automated reply or something but I have not received anything yet.  Anyone know about expediting?

I was told if I don't call NVC to review my agent then it would take 2-3 weeks to review and also my payment would not be available to pay. But I could be wrong. But hey as long as ball is rolling, it's doesn't matter I guess.

I agree with @Mary Lou. The agent told me the same thing but I was able to choose my agent the very next day with my case # and invoice #. I would say try next day. It should work. And also make sure to call NVC and have them review your agent after you choose an agent, otherwise it will delay the process a bit. 

Everyone is calling and being told they have to wait till the welcome email comes unfortunately.

I hear you. I really don't understand why NVC agents have to be so different from each other. They should have a guideline what to do and what not to do. If they can do it for some of us, why not for rest all? Confusing place . Keep trying may be you will get a good agent and willing to help you.

Yeah I'm wondering if I should try tonight or just tomorrow, tried twice already, maybe it takes a few days.

I think emails don't go out right away too due to the volume they send out.
