My husband just got out of his interview an hour ago. He was approved after about a 3 minute interview. He showed up 45 minutes early, waited around a bit, and then they called him up and asked him 3 questions: 

 

1. Have you ever been arrested in the US? 

2. When did you meet your wife?

3. How did you meet your wife? 

 

They said it would take about a week to print his visa so now we are back to checking the CEAC status constantly! Crossing our fingers for a speedy printing! Best of luck to everyone out there. Stay strong and patient.  You are doing great so far and are closer to the finish line than you ever have been!

Congratulations!!!!!! I have been waiting for my passport not so patiently, tomorrow will be a week.

My status has been showing AP since friday, granted monday was a public holiday here... Gosh, i am hoping to see issued tomorrow -  I am just so eager to go see my son and husband.

You should get it really soon! It's the end of the fiscal year for the USG so I know they are pushing them through as quickly as possible! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Good point - that is very true! Oh, you totally just made me feel better. Thank you so much!!!

I also have recruiters waiting for me to confirm interview dates for jobs - so much just hanging on this darn visa.

I AM FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything was going swimmingly until Monday. Our case at NVC was complete and we were waiting for our interview date. On Monday the Kurdish Regional government held a vote for independence from Iraq. My husband lives in the Kurdish region. They are cancelling all flights in and out of the region on Friday. We don't know what his status will be. if he will get an interview? how will he get to the interview with closed borders between the two regions? I am FREAKING OUT!!!! We waited so long. everything was so close being done! I can't imagine waiting any longer or not even being able to visit him. I am crushed.

I would contact NVC immediately and ask them what your next steps should be. Do you have a lawyer?

I am looking for support. My husband's interview was today. The interview took a little over one hour. He answered every question correctly. In the end he was issued a 221g, asked to give all the documents he brought with him, he was given all the documents I submitted and they didn't take his passport. On the 221g nothing was checked they only highlighted the admin review section and told him they will email him what they need. At this time we are freaking out completely. In the interview they kept saying they didn't believe him. He was given the letter about social security but given the 221g. Help us. I need advice I'm about to have a breakdown.

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience and can only imagine how frustrating it'd be to get a 221g without explanation! However, I wouldn't freak out if I were you... from my understanding 221g is when they need further documents; they're not rejecting you, right? So yeah it might delay you and that sucks, but you'll have a chance to provide the proof/docs they feel they're missing, then everything will likely be settled  wishing you the best of luck! I wonder if in other VJ posts you can find some info from folks who got 221g w/o explanation on the spot too...

Oh, no, I'm so sorry to hear that! I second the other post to call NVC right away and also the embassy where his interview would take place for advice.

 

Is this blocking of the flights supposed to be temporary or indefinite? Because if it's temporary I guess you could just reschedule the interview, but otherwise then yeah I guess it'd be a question for a lawyer or nvc/embassy :/

Hi Everyone;

 

My husband had his interview today. No more than 5 minutes, 4 standard questions about me and officer said everything looks great. However!!!!!

 

They told him to fill out the form 5535 and email it, and gave him the 221g that stated: you application is suspended until receipt of the below document (5535)

 

I dont know why they start to give this form recently in casablanca embassy. 

 

I was 1000000000000% sure that they will give him " APPROVED" but unfortunately we are in the waiting game again 

 

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Very depressed
