Anybody here from the Philippines??? I read on the consulate website that we are able to reschedule earlier appointment if slot is open? Has anybody tried that? My husband is done with his medical and is all ready to go...

This thread might help you. I suggest calling the Embassy yourself to reschedule. Good luck!

Hello everyone! I had my interview yesterday at the US Consulate in Bucharest and was approved! :D I checked CEAC today and the status said ISSUED so I should be receiving my passport with the visa in a day or so! I cannot tell you how relieved I am. Good luck to you, VJ fam! You all have been a great support system!

Thanks! The Consular Officer asked me the following questions:

  • Who is the petitioner?
  • What does he do for a living?
  • Where does he live?
  • When and how did you meet?
  • How many times have you visited him and how many times has he visited you?
  • He pointed at a photo in the photo album I provided as evidence of the relationship and asked me where it was taken.

Pretty standard questions :)

My mom's interview will be next mom at Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Should I go? is it better if I go with her?

Call the embassy first and make sure they allow petitioners to attend the interview as well. But honestly, for the Embassy it doesn't make a difference if the petitioner is there or not. But if it makes a difference for you or your mom (for moral support), go for it.
