Hello VJers

I am currently waiting on my ROC to be processed (Nov 2016 filer at VCS), at this stage anticipating it won't be done until January/February next year! Even though I would be eligible to apply for N-400 in November 2017 (90 days early) and wish to obtain citizenship as soon as possible, some time between March and May 2018 we will be moving to Michigan from New York. I have read on here that it is best to wait until I have moved to Michigan to apply N-400, to avoid my application getting lost or delayed being transferred to a different field office. I also want to take an overseas trip back home for about 6 weeks hopefully early next year somewhere in there...keeping in mind that there would be a 3 month residency requirement. ..my questions are:

- how do I establish that I have moved to Michigan from NY? Just file AR-11 on USCIS website, and put new address on the N-400?

- from which date would I have officially moved (lease date, actual date of arrival into Michigan, or date I changed my NY to MI drivers license?)

- will I need to provide proof/documentation on my application that I have resided there for 3 months? Or is it simply a yes or no question?

- would it be best to wait until I have the 10 year green card in hand, move to MI, take the overseas trip (hopefully during the first 3 months of residency) and apply when I get back after the 3 months residency requirement has been fulfilled?

- after applying, how long is the entire process generally? Has anyone had recent experience filing in Michigan (Grand Rapids to be specific)?

- is applying online faster?

Any help greatly appreciated!
