Hi there,

My fiance and I are in the process of gathering evidence for the K1 visa to support our application and have taken screen shots of a sample of our WhatsApp messages from each month since meeting until now.

In terms of presenting this evidence, is there a recommended way in laying everything out? I thought it might be useful for my fiance (the petitioner) to arrange several messages per page when printing and adding in either written or typed notes to provide a little more context on the nature of the discussion, i.e., "discussing our plans to meet my family at Christmas", or would this seem a little over-the-top and unnecessary?

Lastly, we've collected A LOT of WhatsApp messages - so is there such a thing as too much evidence? I've read that in some cases these types of messages are barely even looked at during the review process.

Thanks in advance for any help!

When my wife filed for me, we didn't send any screenshots for any text conversations/emails. The onoy proof we had (beside legal documents) were photos of us together. But we filed for CR1 not K1. I don't really know how much text evidence is strong.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Do not type notes or explain what the conversation is. It's not necessary and to me it looks strange. They can read. If they have questions they will ask you. "More context" is not necessary.

Send a sampling of a few pages of each week/month over the course of the relationship.  You can email WhatsApp chats to yourself and print them out. It makes it very easy and simple. Don't make it overly difficult. Unless you have red flags, the UK is not a difficult embassy.

Photos of you guys meeting each other and flight tickets, hotel receipts, and a few screenshots is good enough :) Me and my wife(then girlfriend) met just once in 5 years of our relationship ! and that too just two days so you can imagine that we didnt had much evidence other than a few photos, flight boarding pass, hotel receipts and a we did pull out some old emails from 3 years before k1 filing and printed them. that's it. do not make a big envelope of evidence because they wont take so much time looking into them.

You don't need any of that. Not for the petition. Not for your interview in London.

Show you've met in person.
