V24-  There are mixed opinions about applying N-400 while ROC is pending.   However, ROC is taking longer ( 15.5 to 20 months) and the approval process is random.  Like January 2018 ( EAC) are getting approval, but August- December are still waiting.  That is the reason,  I applied when my window was opened on Nov 25, 2018.  My local field office has N-400 waiting time of 9.5 to 20 months.  By applying, I already cut down 2.5 months from my N-400 waiting time.  Still no ROC approval and might get a comb interview.  Got passport stamped until Jan 2020.  My ultimate goal is to get US citizen, so I am comfortable with my decision.

That was my thought process. GC is temporary but Citizenship is permanent and my ultimate goal. The time line on my N400 says 10 months now.  If I get my 10GC in the meantime-that’s a bonus but looking towards my naturalization.

Congratulations on the approval! When did they send your case to Nebraska?

V24- You are waiting so long not to apply N-400, it is better to wait a month for your ROC approval otherwise it might get complected.   I applied N-400 ( Nov 25, 2018) while ROC pending.  Got my passport stamped for a year and might or might not get GC, but mentally accepting it and will go directly for N-400 interview , says will be completed by Feb 2020.  So maximum another one year waiting time for the final immigration journey.

I received my approval letter in the mail today. :jest:

I filed it on Sep 14, 2017, at CSC and my case was transferred to 'Nebraska' on Nov 6, 2018.  I called USCIS and talked to tier 2 supervisor, who assured me that my case was transferred back to CSC even though I didn't receive an updated transfer notice.  It is very random as I have seen people with same notice date as mine getting approval notice a month ago.

Hope other sept filers and ROC candidates get it soon.

No, online it still shows that it was transferred on Nov 6 to NSC. Again its very random and I think it depends on the workload of the officer that handles your case and not just by your NOA date .
