Strange! It says on mine it was sent to my lawyer or representative stated on the G-something form. I’m guessing yours is just a glitch. Aslong as you have the real notice I guess that’s fine!

Mine says the same about the representative as well. But i dont have one!

I do have a lawyer but he hasn’t received a letter I don’t think, didn’t get a reply anyway. Looks like a lot of people in the August group received the courtesy letter who don’t have a lawyer. Nobody has received the real notice after the courtesy 😑

So my lawyer also only received a courtesy copy, so strange!

I travel in 2 weeks, my green card expired November 2, 2017, my notice date on the extension letter is September 2017 as we applied right away.

Should i I go get a stamp, or travel with my current extension letter and the ‘courtesy copy’ new letter. Technically it is valid until November, as it’s 1 year from green card date not the letter. Hmm.

So when can we file the N400.  Do we have to wait until after the 10-year green card is issued?  Or can we do it after our spouses have been here for 3 years?  (We're going on 4 years now).

90 days prior to your 3 year anniversary of becomming a permanent resident.

Here is a site where you can use to calculate when you are elegible to file.

Thanks for that info.  But I'm still a little confused!

When you say on your 3 year anniversary of becoming a permanent resident.  Does becoming a permanent resident start at the time when you get the first green card - with conditions?  Or does it start after you complete the removal of conditions process?

Take the expiration date on your green card (the physical card. not the extension letter(s)). Add 1 year and then subtract 90 days. thats when you can apply.

3 years since becoming a green card holder. For ex. I became a permanent resident  in Dec, 2015 so I use that as my start date to count 3 years. This also means I can apply for N-400 this year (I can apply 90 days before the 3-year mark).

Hope that makes sense. :-)

Oh wow!  I didn't realize that.

So, my wife became a conditional permanent resident on 10/9/2015.  Her conditional residency expired 10/9/2017 and they issued her a continuance letter which expires this year on October 9th.

So, could we apply for citizenship now?
