Well it depends on what is so good to be true. I was first so excited that we got the interview so quick but now am thinking who knows i might have to wait another year for the decision even tho i know it's an approval

Don't worry, it was probably scheduled for clarification. :-)

I was just looking at my NOA for I-751. There are  two receipt numbers on mine like ABCXXXXXXXXXX - ABCXXYYYYYYYY

Each number gives me a different response. The first one says that the case was received on Spet. 11 and we will inform you of our action and the second number says that it was received at my local field office!

Which is the number I need to pay attention to.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The number that references CRI89 (Its on your biometrics letters)

This is good news now we don't have to worry about info pass appointment, but do we again have to do biometrics?

Good question haha! There is probably no difinitive answer for everyones case. It probably varies with everyone across the board. eg... in my case the last time USCIS ever took my finger prints was for my I-485 back in 2015 ... since then i have never had my finger prints taken and they sent me a notice for the I-751 saying that i never needed to come in for biometrics.

So, will we be receiving the new extension letters once the current ones are expired?

I'm wondering about this too. Does anyone have any sense of when we'll be receiving new extension letters? As a previous poster mentioned, traveling in October/November when you have an expiry letter that says December might cause problems. I wish I knew when new extension letters were likely to be mailed. I'm worried. It's not just travel that's impacted; those of us who need to renew driving licenses will have problems without new extension letters.

Yaaayyyy!!! Fingers crossed the noa1 gets to us both quickly !!!!

Is anyone in Ny ? Do you know if they will extend the drivers license with just the letter ? This is SO stressful! I was happy to be far away from thinking of all this ####### for two years!! 😂😭🤦‍♀️📝

Hey September filers!

Not sure if anyone's around this post anymore, but I was just wondering if anyone happens to know what the filing times were when we all submitted in September? I can't remember, and I see now that it's 13-17 months. We are planning a trip to Sweden this Christmas and I was wondering if anyone has had to travel with the extension letter and an expired green card, and how that worked. I also saw they are going to be sending out 18-month extension letters to everyone so I'm guessing it's going to be a while before the hubs receives his new green card.

Also wondering if anyone from NY went to DMV to extend their license and how the heck that went!

We're debating just waiting since you can renew your license up to 2 years after it expires without having to retake all the tests to avoid the extra fee/hassle. But if it's not going to be too complicated then I'd rather we just go down and renew his license now so at least one of his ID forms aren't expired!

I'm going to search, but I was wondering... what happens after we get the new permanent resident card? Will we have to reapply for it again in 10 years? The hubs doesn't want to become a citizen, so does that mean we will have to do paperwork forever basically? Just wondering if anyone has any information on the next step after the I-751 if you're not going to go the citizenship route.

Thanks! :)

We are flying to Canada in a week and will let you know how it goes.

Also, when your ROC is approved, you will receive a 10-yr permanent resident card, which means it expires 10 years from the date you get approved. Best thing is to just apply for citizenship and forget all this mess :)

I'm from Texas, so cant speak about the NY DMV. One thing I know is when I went to renew my driver license after my conditional green card arrived, they gave me 7 years on my new driver license. Wont have to worry about it til 2022 :)

Thanks! Am really worried about the traveling on an extension letter part, so any info is really helpful!

The NY DMV sounds way more uptight than the Texas DMV!

I have flown to London and Glasgow on my extension letter with zero issues. I have a trip to the Virgin Islands and plan to visit the BVI once out there, which will require passport/GC checks and a flight to Paris in September, my extension letter gives a year from November 2017. I'm not so worried about US customs as they will be familiar with the letter but more boarding the flight in France with the letter and the language barrier but honestly I think it will be fine. The US customs officers I've had in the past have all treated the letter just as if it was a GC and not given it a second thought, I think you will be fine!
