I have a question with bank statements. I just got added to my husbands account this month. We have a paper from the bank stating both me and spouse have jont account. All the previous statements since 2 years has only his name. If I send these statements having only his name ,will this be a problem?

I submitted all of our bank statements, even the one's that only had my name. I then included a letter explaining that I had these accounts before she arrived and then I notated when I actually added her to the account. I'm sure you're fine if you provide them all as well as explaining the situation.

I am going throughout Vermont. I put $680 cashier's check. And I just called and the bank stated it wasn't cashed yet.

Just thinking what could be wrong ... are you sure you're within the 90 days window period? Cos if not, they wouldn't cash your cheque, they would rather return the package back to you...

calling them might not get you the answer you want cos they will give you the usual "pls give 40 days before you call in to check your case"

If I remember right, VSC processes slightly faster than CSC. There must be an explanation for this. I mean, they don't start working on our files now, since they're still working on 2016 cases. Was your envelope secured and sent by registered mail? Are you within the 90 days (90 days until your conditional card expires)? Was the check at the front of your package? I hope they'll cash it soon. Maybe someone who is also going through the VSC and has a similar timeline may be able to shed some light on this

i sent it thru UPS. And Im still within the window because it doesn't expire until 10/10. The check was in front of the package with the application. Hmm, I'm playing how I packaged it 10,000 times in my head and nothing comes up missing. I just don't know

I did it with no signature. I read a while back on VJ that it doesn't make a difference. I don't remember the reasoning, but my package arrived safely 😁

Hi everyone, as we all r September filers, it means we all entered into United states on December 2015. My entry date was 12 December and I had no ssn or green card, so I did not file for 2015. I have only one joint tax return for the year 2016 that I sent a copy to USCIS. My questions are -

1. Is there any chance that USCIS ask for that tax return?

2. Do I have to file a tax return for 2015 which I lived only 18days?

3. Did you guys file a tax return for 2015?

Thanks in advance

Yes, As soon as I was married to a US citizen, I had to jointly file taxes with my wife with the IRS.  I was paying taxes, before actually permanently moving to the US.  Technically you could have filed jointly for the 2015 tax year and put down $0 US income.
