Did anyone send in their N400?

I'm wondering if I should apply already (window opened this month if I don't mistake - received my conditional card in 11/2015). What are the pros/cons?

Thanks!

So it's not gonna be easy.

It's going to be really hard;

we're gonna have to work at this everyday,

but I want to do that because I want you.

I want all of you, forever, everyday.

You and me.. everyday.

Just updating that about 2-3 weeks ago, the wife and I went to San Antonio to get her passport stamp since we will be in Germany when her extension letter expires. It took about 2 hours total but they did stamp her passport and took her expired GC. So, we shouldn't encounter any issues traveling. That was a really simple process.

Just got the infopass stamp for a year and they kept the green card and the officer said the case is still sitting in the Vermont office even though we moved and sent a change of address. 😔 no clue when this will even be looked at. So now we have to go everywhere with this passport 😲. Yikes!

Hi everybody.

As most of you, I have a 2 year GC that expired Nov 2017 and I filled my ROC on Sep 2017

As some of you know I was on a job assignment since March in Ireland.

I was planning to stay here for up to 2 years, therefore I applied for N-470 Application to Preserve Residence for Naturalization Purposes. I recently found out that my petition was denied.

I will be returning to the U.S. NY on August 23rd. with 177 being outside the U.S.

1. Absence of More than Six Months (but Less than One Year)
An absence of more than six months [more than 181 days but less than one year (less than 365 days)] during the period for which continuous residence is required is presumed to break the continuity of such residence.

So I don't think I broke my Continuous Residence and Physical Presence

During my stay in Ireland, I kept strong ties to the U.S. such as;

  • Learner Permit
  • State ID
  • Petition for Travel Document (Re-Entry Permit) ( I-131) valid till Nov 2018
  • Active Phone Bill
  • Internet
  • 2-Year Apartment Lease
  • My Spouse stayed in the U.S.
  • 401k
  • Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Checking Account
  • Savings Account
  • Credit Cards
  • Personal Loan
  • Tax Returns 2015, 2016, 2017

I was wondering if I should prepare myself for any difficulties on my return for the officer?

Wait 177 days is less that 6 months. more than six months would be 181 days+

I am not here to discuss politics and what's against the constitution or not & he is enforcing the immigration laws as he promised his voters he will. Now, the "promised not to use any benefits" doesn't mean someone has to die just because they can't really afford health care. Even as a legal GC holder, when you seek benefits for your citizen family member, you are in jeopardy not to be approved for citizenship.
