We have about 1 to 1.5 years more to go until my green card is ready. My wife and me spend about 4-5 months per year in the USA and the rest in Europe. I have an ESTA.

We found the perfect home in Las Vegas, and want to buy it. But 1. I dont even have No2 yet, and second, we dont know how the visa bulletin will move.

However, the home is so perfect that we cant resist. Vegas is a high crime 2 million metro, and we are afraid that during extended stays abroad (up to 3-4 months) the home would be robbed or destroyed, even if we implement home watch company and full state of the art security.

What is the opinion of people living already in similar towns. Too risky to go for the home as of current status?
