Why do some people get EAD within a week or 2 of biometrics while others have to wait a few months? I am getting really frustrated waiting on my EAD after 3 weeks of biometrics without a change in status at all.

It's just like any other work place some case workers are faster than others I suppose! Try writing a request to expedite your EAD if you need it sooner than 90 days.

And what would I state my need is for me to want it sooner; I mean give and example please. And is 90 days the normal period of wait?

If you have a job offer you can ask for it to be expedited. It is currently taking 90-120 days to get the EAD. (they are backlogged).

It’s gonna be my first EAD. How do one get a job offer without a social security number? Every time I try applying I am asked if I am legally allowed to work in the USA and then social security number

Youll probably need to just wait for it then. I dont know how people get job offers with no EAD or social. I guess they know someone or have degrees and some sort of resume and they apply and tell the employer they are awaiting the EAD. But yes it will be hard to apply for things when you have to say you currently dont have work authorization (but can get it if they offer you employment) and cant provide a SSN. Heres a website with a bunch of assistance programs, perhaps theres something that can help you until you get the EAD. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/

 

You can also attempt the expedite and claim financial hardship and send a letter/proof of your expenses and income. It might not be approved but its free to request the expedite so it cant hurt.

90 Days is normal. If you have a compelling need to get it sooner you should request expedited processing and explain the situation in a letter with any supporting evidence.

10/31/2017 - RFE received for updated medical report

11/14/2017 - Responded to RFE with updated medical report

11/29/2017 - I-485 approved

12/05/2017 - Received notification that AOS was approved.

12/07/2017 - Green Card arrived.

quick question please; do they start counting the 90 days of the form I765 from the day the application is received because if that's the case then my form was received on the 2nd of October hence its almost already 3 months (90 days).

my form I765 was received on the 2nd October 2017. its expanded 90 days already. what do I do?
