I'm starting to get nervous. I completed my AOS interview on 10/24 and submitted the RFE for updated medical on 11/14. It's been two weeks and I have not heard an update. From what I read on this forum, the decision is typically made pretty soon after submitting the final RFE. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and checking my phone and my online case status every hour to see if there is an update. Am I being too eager? I have read so many posts here about receiving decisions within a week of all the RFE and interviews being complete. The wait is driving me nuts!

You should contact your congressman or ombudsman and have them inquire on your behalf as your case is past the standard processing time.

thank You,

i have contacted Congressman today but I don't think that it will be helpful.

my EAD card will be expired on December 19, 2017

i have requested renewal , receipt date is October 10, 2017 , I am also waiting for renewal card.

i went to my country after 7 years with my EAD card last month, i have stayed there for 3 weeks and when I came back, they just asked me 'how long did I stay? ' and that's it, I re-enter to Usa.

Hi!

Does our status changes after EAD?

For example, in my case: I overstayed my Visa and I filled Vawa 2 months ago, I already have my receipts notice but still out of status.

What is my status when my work permit comes?

The work permit doesn’t change your status. You are “pending adjustment of status” if you submitted I-485. As long as you have a pending AOS, they will not remove you (unless you commit a crime of course) but you don’t have legal status either. It’s kind of an in between thing.

Hi can anyone’s here give me advice pls?

I submitted my documents to adjust my status and for EAD. BecUse I had prima facie before I decided to adjust status and apply EAD because my husband is US citizen. I submitted October 21 and today it has been a month and I did not receive any notification. And my status did not change. And I don’t have EAD too. Pls, can anyone tel me here if this happened to them?

How long did it take for you to receive your EAD and a response if you have the same situation as me?

I think that is basically correct. Congressman 's case assistance won't speed up or slow down case processing at USCIS, unless your case is a forgotten one. USCIS usually will let Congressman know the current case status, which is still valuable to petitioners or applicants.

If you submitted your I-485 and I-765 (under category C9), make sure your mail has been delivered to VSC. If your mail has been received by VSC, you will either get receipt notice in about one month,  or rejected package (not properly signed or missing important document).

EAD takes 2-3 months usually. Your first step is to receive the receipt notice of I-485 and I-765.

Everything that miloy001 said is correct. Also keep in mind that there was a holiday. If you submitted a fee waiver, it might take even longer. I submitted around the holidays last year and it took 6 weeks for me to get my receipt notices.

Good evening guys I have been a part of this forum since 2015 and even tho I haven't been very active I have read almost 90% of the posting from all members, im happy for everyone that has been approved and has ended his/her fear from the unknown. And I decided to share my journey so far since.

In 2012 I came to the USA on a student VISA and during my summer I meet someone and we fall in love at the end of the summer I had to go back and I promised that I will try and come again the next year.  And I was lucky enough to be allowed to come back again during my last year when I was in college, and at the end of the summer we were in love and the person I meet wanted me to stay here and  to spend our life together, and I know what are the risks i=we didn't plane to get married or anything it was love from the first sight,  I stayed missed my flight and at that point I overstayed my Visa, but for me that didnt matter becase we were in love and we wanted to spend eturnity together, and since I was always the more responsible one I was supporting us and providing, when I mett the parents they accepted me and us with open arms and the begining the y didn't know about us but when I meet they were so open and amazing. and after 3 years of living together and sharing memories and holidays and a life we decided to get married just so we can have a normal life without of fear that we can be separated, and since I was the only one working and supporting we could apply for a marriage-based green card since I wasn't making enough or it was the responsibility of the American citizen, to be the provider and in that time the amezing American parents that I still have full support and love desidet to help us and cosingh for the finansial support, and at this point the tings become beyound bad, After abuse attacks and treaths and after saing if you don't do what i ask i will deport you i wiil lie to the interwue and there were always like blakmailing for money if i dont get this buye this and do that i will suffer the concequences since i was the one with a perfect credit and income, and after my spouse fired my lawyer befor the intervue and the asaut the police issued a restraining order and my spouse was charged with a second degree assout, i was atending meetings with a shrink and with people from the APP pepole ( Abuse People Program) they showed me that after the parents cosinght for my spouse that was a singht of losing contsrol and all the abuse threaths and demands was a way for keeping me in fear and and to obey so to say becase it was alwasy if you dont do this i will deport you im better that you becase im a American and you are nothing and you will stay nothing if you dont do what i ask, tthere were number of fights when i will catch like cheating and using my social and pretending to be me and stuff but there were alwasy tears explayinig how much she regrets it and sorry and it will not happen again and ll kind a lies, with the last time that i was black mailed nad said that if i dont bring money my dgypsy ### will go back to my durt country and that if i dont do it im a gooner and if i contact the judge regarding the treaths even that there is a restraining order that says no abuse contact and any threats it was continuing, and reseantly i decidet do get a devorce i filed the paperwork and now im wayting for the desidion of the judge, hopfully that will not harm my VAWA petition. I filed September of 2015 and still my petition is pending and I still live in fear of deportation or denial because I know my spouse contacted USCIS or immigration telling all kinda lies and stuff and probably that's why my petition is still pending, and because she contacted my friends and family she terminated all my roughs  with back home and the only friends and family that I have are here, and just like the last email stated that im going home or in jail for fraught.

Im sharing this just to tell everyone not to give up and to be afraid and to have faith and whatever happens, happens and not to lose hope I mean this is all I have hope for a better future and for  a place to call home and not to be afraid, also I wanna say thank you to SANDRAJ thanks to her encouraging words and to all the members here I still have hope for a better future. THANK you all

Thank you for sharing your story. I pray we all get responses/approvals very soon because the wait has indeed been a long one. I recently received my 3rd prima facie :( within 4 days of applying for one. I remember thinking within myself " If only they were this fast with approvals".

All I can say for now is "It is well" and "It will end in Praise".

I have an interview to attend nxt week. Could you please share your experience with me? Getting really nervous about it.

Lawyer suggested to do my updated medical exam  before the interview which i did already , went through background check again just to show everything is up to date. Collected all my original doc together....

What the officer ask for ? Will the interview take long?

Thank u for your time...
