Someone pls explain this to me : why has my form I 485 been transferred twice?

November 7 17

case was transferred and a new office now has jurisdiction

  • We received your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, and we are working on your case. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

Your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, was transferred to another office for processing.

It was transferred  from VSC to local office and after a few hours to NBC,it's an electronic  file ok,after a few days NBC will ship to local office again, to set up the interview.

You may want to go through the following document with sample:

https://www.immigrantjustice.org/sites/default/files/VAWA Presentation Mayer Brown 05 14 2012_0.pdf

The form is simple but usually, you have to write GOOD affidavits to support your case. Good luck!

It's written  in this site that calling names is extreme cruelty but this is not true. USCIS  gave hundreds of decisions stating  name that calling is not extreme cruelty.

Just take your Medicals to your interview

She has to see where they are asking to submit the medical exam, for example when someone didn't submit the medical exam or the the medical was done over 12 months ago then NBC may request the medical exam and sometimes the local office asks the medical exam,  they can ask to bring to the interview or to submit to NBC.She has to see the address they told her to submit the medical.

@gramercy

Thanks for this - do you know if it is possible to obtain a consular record of birth abroad (CRBA) from the site as well? I know my wife was born abroad and has a CRBA as opposed to a birth certificate.

They will not issue for you

She is a naturalized  U.S Citizen then USCIS won't have problem to find out  about her status. Ask USCIS to search in their data base, mention her full name,  date and place of birth and give her parent's name as well.Inform if she is naturalized  or a VS holder. If you have her SSN number then mention as well.

Hello all,

When renewing the EAD; Do you get a new one issued with the same number or new number with each renewal like passports?

I applied for EAD renewal and AP, and got the NOA with new case numbers (not same number as the expiring EAD), so just wanted to double check.

@sandranj I hope you're feeling better now xx

If you got an RFE to do the medical exam then you have to submit  along with the RFE, you need to see what address they put in the RFE, it can be VSC  or local office asking.

my notice says I don't need to mail it in you t this time it just tells me to bring it to my interview day.

hay everybody,  is it status checking site is down ?

beside can anybody help me to answer these question

  1. i filled my 360 app Oct 5, got my receipt, when i suppose to receive my prima-facie
  2. what is the use of prima-facie, is it important to have, or not really

please

thanks

Not everyone receives prima facie automatically. Depends on the IO looking at the case. But you can request it if you don’t get it.

You can apply for certain public benefits and FAFSA with it.

It does not mean your VAWA will get approved/denied when you receive it/don’t receive it.

Yes, the website does not work properly this morning.

1. Usually a few weeks after the receipt notice

2. Prima Facie may be used to assist you in receiving public benefits if needed
