Yes approved and later denied

Vou said approved and later denied. Did uscis deny your AOS or did they ship back to Vermont for reconsideration?

Two years ago I helped two guys with their  RFEs, one from Turkey  and another one from South Korea. Their  attorneys didn't even read their affidavits and submitted to Uscis., in one case Uscis said the person was not credibe, the another   one wrote  two dates different  from what was written in the police report.  I was able to explain the discrepancy and they were approved.  If you  messed up a few days your attorney will be able to explain  this to Uscis.

Everyone says the AOS interview depends on the local I-485 processing time. However, in azalea3's case, her I-360 was approved on 5/9/2017 and AOS interviewed on 10/24/2019, which is much less than her local I-485 processing time. Perhaps, she is just pure lucky, not notarized affidavits, no RFEs, much fast AOS interview...

Hi,

Lucky you, how long did you wait before your interview was scheduled after your vawa was approved?

I'll tell you this. I read it somewhere on this forum (probably around part 5). Though I don't know if this is what worked for me.

While my 485 was still pending, I sent in additional documents to be added to my file.

( news articles from me helping a family I saved from carbon monoxide poisoning)

This forces the office to revisit your file, and they may just send it right to your local office for scheduling.

Again, I don't know for sure it was the reason but I got a letter for interview within 3 weeks after I did that.

My file is already at my local office, my congressman confirmed that to me after he made inquiries on my behalf. Perhaps, scheduling an infopass and going in there to physically meet with an official may help. I'm definitely going to attempt doing that next week on my day off of work

Usually they ask  questions that you answered  on the form I-485.

I would say 80% of the cases they approve on the spot, but sometimes the IO is new and the supervisos has to review the case before approval.
