hi everyone asking for my cousin. She got married 2016 got her 2 year GC her husband died in a car crash few days ago how does she proceed getting her 10 year GC? Please  and thanks in advance

Husband says he will take back what he said in the letter. Does anyone know if he can do that? We're hopig that'll let uscis proceed with processing our initial 485 application. 

Failing which, I'd have to file the 485 all over again and hope for the best.

Why do you want to continue  living   with your abuser if you are being abused???  He does not love you, he does not respect you, just because you love him is not enough, he must love you as well.

 

If he didn't attend individual  therapy for at least one year and anger management  classes for at least 6 months  then don't continue living with him because the abuse will continue. Abusers don't stop abusing their victims just because they decided "ok I dont want to abuse her anymore". The abuser has the moral compass broken,  lack empathy  towards others. They don't have a "mental illness " as many victims describe their abusers. Abuse is a choice, it's about power and control.

 

If you don't have a place to go then go to a shelter for victims  of domestic  violence.

 

VAWA  was enacted for victims fleeing domestic  violence and not as a escape to get a green card.

Yes. My VAWA was approved in June and I had my AOS interview based on VAWA yesterday.

Thanks. :-) I have my medical exam scheduled for Monday. Hopefully, I will have a decision soon after submitting the documentation.

Can you go to ang doctor to get the medical done? Do they know what tests need to be done? Or are there designated doctors you need to go to? 

I would like to choose a doctor in my network so my insurance covers the cost. Hopefully that’s possible!

@iwillsurvive  from what I understand there is specific places to go ...try zocdoc and see if u can find a doctor in your network who does it ...as for nyc I was told immigration medical are paid for cash...1 spent 320 so far for 2 ..

it has to be doctor approved by USCIS: https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor

 

The person that I went to before said they don't bill insurance and if I wanted to see if insurance will cover my tests and exam, then I can file a claim with the insurance to reimburse me. But I had to pay the doctor upfront before I could pick up the fulled out document from them,

Thank you! If my vaccines are all up to date, do I just need to prove that or will they still re-do them at the medical?

Today is  "Domestic Violence Awareness Day". We  honor  those that have died due to domestic violence and we support the survivors . Make a fashion statment today and wear something PURPLE.

Do not blame yourself because abuse cannot be justtified.  Do not be ashamed, the abuse inflicted upon you cannot and should not dimish your worth, your life is precious. I did not renewal my restraining order protection against my ex-husband and I did not have an I-485 interview yet. 

Will be a problem if I don’t have an actualized restraing order?
