Do not consider the USCIS charter published on August 2016 because the charter is  not updated.  USCIS is already adjudicating self petitions received in October and November 2016, despite there are some  VAWA cases filed in September 2016 still pending.

I feel hope when reading this. You give me hope. Thank you @sandranj

The priority date is just for spouses of green card holders because they don't have a visa number available, but immigrant visas for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens are unlimited, so they have  always a visa number available.

sandranj , YOU ARE SIMPLY AMAZING  all stars for you

Please I need more insight to help me understand things better. I filed for VAWA and EAD in June 22nd of this year. I understand the VAWA usually takes anywhere from 9 months to 2 years if I am not mistaken. i.e. they're currently processing cases from Oct/Nov 2016.

I know my application for EAD will take a long time to be approved since I didn't file a form I-485 with it.

**My question is, how long will the EAD take to be approved? When I checked the processing time on the USCIS website, it says under All other applications for employment authorization. Processing June 1, 2017

*Do I fall under this category for my EAD? Or I still won't get any EAD until my VAWA is approved?

Thank you all for your support

If you did not file I-485, your EAD will only be approved AFTER your I-360 gets approved. Current processing times are looking to be around 12 months for I-360. So it will then take 60-90 days after approval to get EAD

Thank God! I485 updated!

After over 5 months waiting, got the interview notice last week. Interview will be tomorrow.  I need you guys' help urgently! Anyone here could please give me any suggestions about Interview or share his experience? Some silly detailed questions: for example, what documents should i exactly take? Can i bring in a backpack with the documents? How long time ahead of the scheduled time when should I walk inside the building?...Many thanks! God bless You!

Hi fellow VJers,

After filing VAWA in mid September 2016, I finally received an update - RFE. I was hoping for a VAWA approval but I am trusting in the Lord, that this is something I can respond to within the time they request I do. I will be asking your advice as soon as I receive the letter in the mail.

Let's continue to pray for favorable outcomes for each other.

All the best 🙂

My VAWA took 10 months to be approved without RFE. I think your case should be approved very soon. God bless You! :)

I would say, about 80% of the cases take 10-12 months to get finalized recently. However, there are about 19% of cases filed around end of June, 2016 are still pending. Cases without I-485 taking longer is just guessing only. You may want to contact your congressman to inquiry your case on behalf of you to figure out possible issues.

Take your original birth certificate and respective translation, original marriage certificate, divorce decree ( if you are divorced or if you were divorced before), a valid passport.Take with you the EAD, I saw some cases that the IO asked back the EAD.  It's advised to take all documents showing a bonafide marriage.

I explained here before that VSC is not adjudicating the AOS anymore, the local office is adjudicating now.  If you were arrested or have a restraining order against you then you must have a CERTIFIED COURT TRANSCRIPT.  Arrive 15/30min before the interview.Yes, you can enter using a  backpack, your cell phone should be off ok. Do not handle documents to the IO without asking for permission ok.Good luck.
