Have you contacted your congressman to inquire your case? I remember there is a member who filed in Oct,2016 already got REF a month ago which means an officer  has started adjudicating her case a month ago.  Don't worry, I think you will hear something soon.

I received my 3rd renewal of prima facie for my case just today. But they gave me until nov 27 only. The first two had 6 mos exp date.

Ohh they only gave me 60 days extension and not 3 mos. Is it because they are working on my case now?

Miss @sandranj, what can this mean?

The past 2 prima facie had 180 days.

Thank you

Yes. You will get a decision on your VAWA I-360 soon.

Good luck!

Cheating  and addiction are not grounds for a vawa case.Just a prescription  for anxiety  is not enough  to prove abuse either. You need to attend  5/7 therapy  sessions and  have a psychological evaluation done and if you  have a diagnose  od depression and/or PTSD then you can prove abuse.

You said  that you suffered mental abuse, psychological  abuse and extreme cruelty, just to clarify  for you

Psychological and mental  abuse  is considered  same thing  by Immigration, and extreme cruelty  can be psychological  abuse, sexual abuse, incest, rape etc, that  being said when referring  about the  abused suffered  you can say "I suffered extreme  cruelty" and then describe  the abuse suffered.

Thank you Sandra NJ

Yes I will be working with a psychologist regarding my case. I believe the doctor's visits support my case as my illnesses were related to extreme stress. I understand it won't fly on its own.

Thanks again for the reply.

Hello Sandra,

Please I need an answer, I’m a bit worried.

i filled for vawa, submitted my documents on July 21, 2017. Received on July 25, got the receipt number in August 10, 2017.

Since then I have not received any news or “my prima facie”

what could me the reason why I haven’t gotten the prima? I’m worried.

They updated the case history on September 28 saying “

Correspondence Was Received And USCIS Is Reviewing It

On September 28, 2017, we received your correspondence for Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant , Receipt Number EAC********. We are reviewing your correspondence, and will mail you a notice if we need something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Any answer on why I haven’t received my prima, and what’s is going on will be appreciated.

thanks

Sometimes they  issue  prima facie  sometimes  don't, but  you  can ask USCIS  to issue the prima facie, just explain  why you need the prima facie.Give them 10 days because  they probably  will issue  soon.

Prima facie  allows you  to get public benefit such as food stamp, medicaid, and you can  apply  for FAFSA as well,if you  want to study.

If you filed  VAWA  6/8 months  ago  then they probably  will adjudicate your  case  soon, and because of this they issued the prima  facie for 60 days.

As far as I am concerned, it takes almost 3 months to get your work permit after you file the AOS

That is a long time... :(

Have you submitted I-765 together with i-360?  Because you get approved on your VAWA, you will get your work permit if you filed I-765. Your VAWA was filed in January, based on the processing time, you probably will get a decision in 4-5 months.

Yes I will file the I-765 this October. I have a prima facie of my I-360 but I need to find a job so I will risk to file other documents this October just to get the work permits. Yes I filed in January 2017 but I need a job right away so I will file other documents this October. Thank you for your advice..........

Have any November, 2016 filers got approved?

Not thst I've seen  I'm also a Nov 2016 filer and I am beyond anxious.

Sandranj how do you go about requesting Prima Facie??? I had no idea I could request it and use it to get Fasfa. I've been waiting for my vawa to be approved to go back to school and work. Also, my babies receive snap benefits and housing assistance but I don't count in household, I could have really used (and still could use) prima facie.

My congressman says my i485 is at my local office and waiting to be scheduled for an interview. So relieved to finally know this. Customer service or service requests wouldn't give me any information about my i485 because of vawa unless I inquired via my congressman 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fingers crossed that I'll be scheduled for next month. I can't wait for this journey to be over.
