Hi All.

Good news for me. My AOS interview is scheduled for 10/24! My VAWA was approved May 3rd. :-)

I was anticipating an interview in February or something. I am so excited and can't wait.

Sandranj - I am trying to decide if I want to hire my attorney to come with me. I am leaning against and want  to hear if you recommend that I take her with me. I have always been in the US legally. No felonies or arrests or anything else law-related. I am currently working on an H1-B. Since the VAWA has already been adjudicated, I am thinking that I should be fine in the AOS interview. I am not super nervous about it. Please let me know if you have any thoughts about taking my attorney to the interview anyway.

Lucky you! I hope my interview is scheduled soon. The wait is killing me.

Most people don't  have an attorney and they attend alone the  interview, but  it's up to you to decide  how comfortable  you  will be without an attorney with you.

I have a question im married to a LPR ans suffer domestic violence and have police reports im gling to apply for vawa ....will that affect my spouse status? .....

YOU can file Vawa NOW but you can't file for adjustment of status until a visa number becomes available for you because your husband is not a US Citizen. It might take  2 years to have a visa number available . After vawa approval you can apply  to get a work permit .

I hope you get yours soon as well. I recall that your VAWA was approved around the same time as mine.

You  don't pay to renew the EAD if ypu  are renewing under the same category,  but you  will file now under a different  category , C9,  then you  have to pay the fees or file form l912.

Thanks alot @sandranj

One more question plaese

I am currently but its very hard for me to pay for the fees.

I am living on my own, have to pay rent and all the bills.

Will USCIS accept my fee waiver request?

Yes, if you can't afford to pay the USCIS fees then file form I-912. Choose options "bellow poverty line and hardship". Mention that you don't have assets or savings(if you don't have of course) list all your utilities, lease agreement, food etc,  and explain how you are paying your bills and if you are using some savings or if family/friend is helping you. Inform that  you are unemployed and you are unable to pay the USCIS fees.

I think what happened was they transferred the priority date on my I-130 to the vawa application and that pushed me to the front of the line and had my vawa adjudicated in 4.5 months. I had a 2015 priority date on my I-130.

Hi ,I filed vawa on January 2017 also and I have I 130 approved since 2007 but my ex husband took that letter and idk if my lawyer find the information to use that priority date ,I guess I need to ask her that right??
