Hello, friends, may somebody know, do I have to be divorced when I'll got for AOS interview after approved Vawa case?  I'm so busy with finally getting GC, don't have energy, time and money to apply for divorce. Could they ask in interview why I'm still married? Do I have to start applying for divorce before interview?

They will definitely want to know why you are still married to your abuser.

There are fee waivers for divorce. I didn’t pay anything. It is not that stressful when there are no kids or assets involved. Also as long as you are married, you are financially responsible for your spouse. So if he gets into debt, they will go to you for money.

How long do you get an interview notice after you get the VAWA approval?

They held my 485 til the decision of my VAWA. My ead will expire on 5.2018 and my lawyer wanted me to file new 485 even if in the approval letter it says I have pending I 485 and wait for further notice..

I'm still waiting, my case was approved in February 17, all my id's expired, EAD already expired, but my I-485 is still pending. My lawyer never suggested me to open new I-485, so I cant tell you for sure. Only one thing you have to do - to apply for new EAD, dont wait, it takes long time.

Thank you! I’m not sure. The letter said they had previously sent the notice. Maybe it got lost in the mail. The Senator’s Office certainly helped speed it up. I’m too happy.
