Hello everyone. Here's my vawa timeline:

Vawa case sent and received December 21st 2016.

Biometrics February 2017

Ead received in May 2017 ( post office lost my work permit so it took forever to receive)

In the meantime they asked me for a police clearance from back home which I did send to them and in June 2017 I got my prima facie.

Renewed my prima facie in September 2017 and received it in November.

Right nownim in the process of renewing my ead that ends soon.

Haven't heard anything about my i360 since the prima facie, my lawyer tells me that the office cent3r has become very slow into processing cases.

I feel hopeless like I'll never hear from them again .

Anyone with a similar timeline ?

I I got similar time line with you. Still waiting for approval as well

Your Receipt Notice should have a paragraph about it being a 180 day extension on it. The DMV in my state has a document online where it says it accepts the receipt notice plus old EAD. I would call the DMV, find such document on their website and go again.

Thank you for the advice. I wrote them letter online. They promised to answer in 5 business days. Let's see what they will tell. On the website of DMV I did not find any info about automatic extension.

Hello Veronika691, i don't the state in which you are or may be the people you met are not doing their job. I renew my ID with the 180 days extension, my edc had expired and all i have was just that letter, the person i met was so nice, he took it to the supervisor and the supervisor check my case status online and ask him to renew it. May be you should go to another dmv. Even at my job the letter was accepted.

Hi, Allrounder, you live in good state. :D I wrote letter online to my DMV, let's see what they will answer me. Good luck in everything.

Hi, November Vawa filers are surely getting approval. Applied on Nov 14th 2016 and got approval yesterday without any RFE. God is there. Have patience.

Congratulations 🎊 . Did you get a letter or they updated your case?

REGARDING: PRIMA FACIE

My prima facie have expired on March 5 but I didn’t receive any renewal maybe because I did something wrong in the letter I sent????

Because it said in the real prima facie letter that to renew prima facie “a copy of this letter should accompany your request” but what I did was photo copy the original and sent the photo copy to them. Am  I in trouble?? Should I have sent the original prima facie letter??? Because even now I still don’t have the new prima facie.

No, you didn’t do anything wrong. I did the same. Have been waiting for a Renewal and has still not received it, since end of January 😏

Sadly, stress n continued abuse can actually kill someone if they’re forced to stay just because the process is taking longer. Being out here isn’t easy either. Regardless of how you slice it, most of us still struggle 😢😢

The two year timeframe is not for the approval of VAWA but for the filing of VAWA. You can file up to two years after getting divorced. Has nothing to do with when it will be approved. Your lawyer gave you wrong and very dangerous information.
