I hear you!! I've got 2 little ones and I have to wait for Vawa approval for a work permit. (My AOS is going to be tricky so I was advised not to file it together)  You can always message me if you need ideas on how to survive, we are probably not in the same state but I've gotten good at finding local resources in order to survive and have learned a lot, and I'm always willing to share the stuff I've learned!

we all are from different countries and different race yet we all have one thing common and that's what bring us together so stay strong and focused everything will be ok it's not like u will never get a response from them so just wait

Very lucky??? Some of us are facing death threats or suffered miscarriages or further abuse! Just pray and assume nothing plz

Gramercy, I don't think she meant lucky in any ill or offensive way.  I think it goes without say that most of us on this forum have suffered abuses that no one should ever have to be put through.  Everyone's situation is different, let's support each other, not tear each other down. :)

I agree. To be honest I'm not sure what is there to be lucky for when you find yourself applying through vawa.. each case is different but for those of us who have kids we usually still depends on our abuser even while working..

Assumptions again!  No one is tearing anyone down; Where did you read that? :D

Perhaps you misinterpreted  my post!

My statement was simply meant to explain that things aren't always what they seem to be.

I've been on this forum since late 2016... each of us has been dealt a different set, some children were also abused and violated in the process, Sandra even told us before about a lady she helped with her VAWA and her abuser killed her, so when you're down thinking or imagining someone (you don't even know) is in better luck... check again and focus on praying and hoping for the best.

It is required from places where you lived (6+ months) during the last 3 years.

I am still about to submit and initial i 130 and i 485 was denied bc my husband did not appear for the interview. The delay may be as a result of background check or backlog. Let's keep praying for each other our God will see us through

You don't need I-130 if you file a VAWA petition.

Hello Sandra, thanks a lot for all your help and answers to our questions! Please i’m Very worried right now! Please I need you to clarify this,Some members here said that if you file only 1-360 it will take like two years for USCIS to respond to your case is that true?I was told that if you spouse is a is Lpr you can only file for 1-360 so does it mean they will keep my case aside??and other members says that if you over stayed in US and ur visa expired they will not approve or take long to answer your case!please I know you are an experienced lawyer tell us if all this is true!thanks a lot for understanding!Gid bless you!

If your husband is a green card holder you can just file the I-360,  you  can submit the i-485 just when a visa number becomes available for you. USCIS will adjudicate your I-360 like they do  with all other  I-360 cases, they will not put your case aside. It's taking around 11/13 months to have the VAWA petition adjudicated.

There is no problem if your visa expired and it doesn't  take longer to ajudicate the case because the person is illegal here.
