yes, they showed me their badge and gave me their names they were wearing casual clothes nothing formal. and they were friendly.

You must be a very important person for USCIS to send you 2 agents to verify your address in person! That may explain why they are in delay processing cases. USCIS is sending ICE agents to verify addresses instead of keeping the agents in the office working in a desk.... I was just thinking how much an agent can be pay by hour, just guessing $15 at least, 2 agents = $30 plus gas and transportation from their office to your home and time waiting outside your house to get you and ask your ID? Wow that new strategy from USCIS sound costly!!! It should be cheaper for them to send you a certificated letter or ask you to show up in person to any USCIS office during their business hours! but who am I to judge their way of work?

I had forgotten to state in my post that I did have this address verification in NY, I live in Manhattan and it took them about a month to catch me at my apartment because I’m reach home like 7pm. They showed me a Department of Homeland Security badge. They ask for my ID to prove my address and they looked at it and left told me to have a good night. This happened in November 2017, my VAWA have an approval date of December 12, but I got the approval letter in early January.

please can you expline this to me

You have to apply to renew it. Do it early as it is taking almost six months to get it.

Thanks Viva, it seems my world is going to turn upside down in a matter of days. Everything expires 2/28 and I haven’t gotten even a Prima Facie extension. 😢

Someone posted ICE came to visit her at her home but the same happened to me. They had on regular clothing two officers, all they said was that they needed to see my ID to verify my address. I ask that they identify themselves and they showed me a Department of Homeland Security badge. They had been leaving me letters saying you missed a home visit. I guess it’s part of their enhanced approach to Immigration under Mr Trump administration.

OK I am from NY too. I guess I should expect that anytime.

I honestly don’t know why they did that, I am not in removal proceedings or had any prior immigration violations. It could simply be random checks. I travel out of the country several times with AP had no issues with them and I have another upcoming trip. Only one bad strike I had was when I was arrested for defending myself against an attack from my spouse, we both were arrested and I was released two days after, case against me was dismissed and he was charged.
