Yes so i married in 2014 then he went to jail for physical abuse then i left him but nvr divirced then i went back with him on 2015 then i found out it nvr FINALIZED then he convinced me to remarry in other state then in 2016 he started bein abusive again got restraining order then i finally divorced in 2017 so they are saying he abused me while my marriage wasnt valid n i got the restraining order for previous abuse but the abuse didnt nvr stopped even after 2nd time we married

Hello everybody. I have a question about my VAWA case. I file on 01/30 and I got a letter yesterday, Form I797c notice of action. Is this the prima facie letter that everybody receives or there’s a separate letter other than this notice I got.

Who said he abused you while your marriage wasn't valid? USCIS? 

 

If you have proof from the original marriage that it was never terminated then you need to submit that. Which marriage certificate did you submit with your VAWA and did you explain this in your affadavit? 

 

From what I'm reading the original marriage would be the official marriage, any subsequent marriage in another state could be considered as reaffirming vows.  You need to show them proof from the original marriage from the original state showing the marriage was never terminated.

Hi Can someone help me answer this question. Can a vawa application be denied without a Notice of intent to deny? I reached out to my Congressman and they just told me my case has been recently decided and I should get something in the mail.

You can check the status of your petition online if you have your EAC receipt number, if your case was decided it should display it in the case status.

I submited the 2016 marriage because the 2014 wasnt valid since my previous marriage in my country wasnt finalized n yes uscis asked why i had a military id n its bc i was married without knowing my marriage in my country wasnt finalized  tgats why uscis said he abused me before legal marriage  but he nvr stopped abusing me really i just didnt get police involved after 2014

If you checked online nothing has change then, chill out just wait for the Approval letter to come.

It's been reported that vawa petitions were approved without any online status updates.

I haven't read anywhere about a case getting denied without rfe or notice. 

Relax and pray, everything will work out and stressing out won't change anything it just ruins your time.
