I still have that problem, I find myself justifying the behavior and abuse, or downplay it in my mind, thinking maybe it wasn't bad enough, or he was drunk and didn't realize what he was doing.  For me, it took an arrest and a very patient police officer to realize that what I was living through was abuse and even though there was good,  the bad was unacceptable.

I always suggest to keep going to therapy, sometimes it takes a long time to overcome the lingering trauma. :(

That’s true also in my case. I start justifying the actions when I think of the “good times”. I need a third person to make me realize the actions of my spouse was evil and wrong and I look at the pictures of the bruises and the terrible memories rush back to me. I also want to go to therapy because I really feel the need to but it costs money and I don’t have a job yet... I can keep on going through my misery but I’m just grateful I survived..

we’ll get thru this...

@MsVI2 was right. The first attorney told me to seek for therapy not only for the immigration purpose but also for my own sake. More or less, these abuses leave scars on our souls, and at some point negatively impact on self-image .

Hi Guys...Sandra can you guide me ...

I had my i485 interview on January 17th, and it was approved.

The IO told me that in 10-14 days I will get my card, but I’m driving crazy because nothing arrived yet!!!

Do you think they changed their mind, and decide to not send my card?

They are not updating nothing on website since they transferred my case to NBC which was in September.

I have been waiting long 2 years and I’m really anxious to see my family.

If you need to travel go to the infopass and ask them to stamp the GC in your passaport.I told you someone here on the thread to do this last week and today the person sent me a message saying thank you and told me that went to infopass and they stamped the Green card in the passaport.

Yes  to have the fees waived file form I-912 and mention what forms you are asking to waive the fees. You should have the fees waives, submit the bank statment if possible, and menton you do not have any assets or savings.Explain how you are surviving in the U.S.

I posted last week that there are already three filers got RFEs from the USCIS and all of them filed before 10th, November 2016.  Yesterday I learned a girl who filed on 18th, November just got RFE. Although there are still October filers waiting, USCIS should be working on November filers now. It is also frustrating to see that the four November filers all got RFEs from the USCIS. I don't know if USCIS has changed their requirement or something else.

They are adjudicating January 2017 already, despite they have some cases  filed in Nov/Dez 2016 still pending

I wish that they should be more educated with victims behavior. I understand why you wrote more on how good your spouse was because you were in a phase where you didn’t want to accept what happened to you because you were trying to protect what little ego and self esteem you have left after all the abuse you went through which I think is normal because I went through the same phase. You try to think that what you fell for was true because in the beginning your spouse did this and that for you when it was all good. I believe the VAWA adjudicators are well educated about victims.

VAWA UNITin Vermont has 125 immigration officers higly trained about domestic violence and extreme curelty, because of this just Vermont adjudicates VAWA and U visas.

If we send documents to VSC without being asked; Like just with a copy of the blue prima facie paper, will our documents be matched with our files?

I made copies of the blue paper and I feel I may need to send more evidence a second time, so can I do it?
