Hi guys, my husband went into my email and found out I was gathering VAWA documents. He deleted proof of residence and the affidavit of support. He is also making threats to dirt me so now I know I have to file even though I've been on the fence. I don't have the NOA2 since he was hiding all these documents . I just the NOA1 what can I use instead to prove status?

If you are renting an apartment or house, you should be able to get a copy of proof of joint residence from the property manager or landlord. You can go to the bank and request copies of joint account statements  - if they are in both of your names, he does not need to be present. Change your account password. Get away as soon as possible - go to a domestic violence shelter or a friend's house. When abusive spouses know that the partner is getting ready to leave, they get unpredictable and dangerous.

You need police clearance from the place you lived at before moving to the US since that is still in the 3 year period prior to filing VAWA.
