Morning guys. Quick question. At what stage during the process of an approved VAWA can one (a) get married and (b) or have a child, without having an effect on the approved VAWA, approved EAD AND OR approved GC?

Thanks in advance

You can have a child whenever. I have heard that it is okay to get married after I-360 is apprpvwd but I personally wouldn’t risk it and just wait another few months until after the GC is approved. In the bigger picture, I think it is safer and what are a few months more if you have found a good partner?

Thanks for the insight. I am yet to find a partner. Just wanted to know how it works

Hi all, just looking for insight.

I submitted my EAD/AP renewal in September and is still pending. My EAD expired a month later. Now my ID expires in a few days and the DMV refuses to renew with the 180 day extension letter.

It seems the process is taking longer than usual but I have no clue what to do.

Also, has anyone successfully used AP under the current administration? I'm so scared but haven't seen my family in years and would love to honestly weep in my mother's arms after all I've been through. I'm just so nervous about leaving.

Thanks.

I would make an InfoPass appointment and inquire about your I-765. Seems like it’s been 90 days already.

Hi I applied employment authorization and it was received October 24, 2017 and it is saying that it will take 90 days to get my authorization. Do you think I will be expecting it soon? Or there are cases that it will take longer to wait? I just need to work for my daughter sake:(.  Anyone can share their story. I will feel hopeful. Thanks you. Happy new year everyone.

Wait at least until the end of the month. If you haven’t received it by then, make an InfoPass appointment and inquire. Oftentimes officers will tell you though that 90-120 days are considered regular processing times and they won’t do much before then.

If you have a pending I-485 and you filed under C9 category, you can expect to get your EAD in 2-3 months.

It has been taking 4 months to get EAD.  You can still look for a job, and when you get a job offer file for expedite.

Hi :)

this forum has been very informative and supportive for me.

thanks to you all.

I just was wondering if there is anyone who had filed EAD in october 2017 and received a card.

I filed my 360 in september 25 and filed for 765,485 later in october 17 coz I did not know I could file it concurrently.

Anyway, now I am waiting for my work permit but there seems no updates or text alarm or whatsoever.

I sent my RFE for 360 and they received it nov. 24

does it effect my work permit in any way like a month delayed or something?

I will wait till jan. 17 which is exact 90 days of filing and ask customer service.

And also wondering about the SSN box I checked on a form.

I checked “Yes” then do they give me SSN as well when the time I have EAD card?

Thank you

Please read the posts of this page and the last page. We discuss EAD processing times there.

Yes, you will get SSN if you checked the box.
