Hi all the vjers advice needed my work authorization is going to expire in may 2018, I have an attorney, can I renew it on my own

Yes, off course, if you do not care about he/she may become angry when he/she knows that.  USCIS will accept your forms and won’t tell your attorney.

Processing times should still count from receipt. Just remember that AP takes a lot longer currently than EAD. Biometrics shouldn’t prolong processing times as they didn’t the first time you applied.

@iwillsurvive the AP is not my concern the EAD is my original one expires Feb 2018 so I wanted to know if the EAD will take that long 3 month again

Yes I-765 processing times are the same whether it is your first application or renewal. VSC processing times show Aug 1st 2017 applications were adjudicated by October 31st 2017, so by December 31st, they should be adjudicating October 1st 2017 applications if processing times stayed the same. Should be your turn soon.

Waiting with patience is the key.  I contacted congressman about prima facie and EAD as filed on Aug 23, 2017.  They submitted letter on December 10th.  I got initial prima facia letter on December 18th, and EAD issued on December 28th.
