Interestingly they seem to be approving more vawas for the first two quarters of 2017 when compared to the last quarter of 2016. Hope that trend continues, its mind boggling that as at April 2017 they have almost 10.7k cases pending. People like my self who filed in 2017 have a long way to go. :)

Please understand that the approved cases on the last quarter were NOT the cases that USCIS received on the same quarter. Most likely, those approved were received one year ago.

So what about petitions from July- September 2017? I always thought that petitions get adjudicated in the order they are received. But the data suggests some get adjudicated in just a few weeks, I'm I correct?

Those numbers have not been uploaded yet, these reflect from September 2016 to June 2017 I believe.

The status just says how many cases VSC received and how many cases they approved on each quarter. However, they do not say those approved cases were received on the same quarter. I would guess most approved were received 10-12 months ago.

@miloy001 I totally understand

Oct. 2016 - Dec. 2016: 2306 Petition received; 536 Approved; 530 Denied; 7915 Pending

Jan. 2017 - Mar. 2017: 2542 Petition received; 1085 Approved; 415 Denied; 9371 Pending

Apr. 2017 - Jun. 2017: 2672 Petition received; 1254 Approved; 435 Denied; 10645 Pending

Looking at those numbers you posted, they only approved 536 apps for last quarter of Dec 2016 even though there were about 200-300 fewer applications in comparison to the first and 2nd quarter of 2017 where they approved 1085 and 1254 respectively. They also denied fewer apps from a larger application pool as well. Just thinking that's a good sign for persons waiting and have a genuine/good case.

Ok, got it.

If you are interested, you can read appeal cases to see how USCIS apply law in adjudication of VAWA. It looks to me they only denied cases when they found clear evidence:

No, incorrect (see my previous post explaining the status).

A few cases may be approved around 4 months on the initial review but most cases are approved 10-12 months and a few cases takes much longer.

Hi everyone,

I filed late Nov. 2016  and I am still praying & hoping for vawa  to be approved.

My husband never filed the I-130 I'm considered as a "visa overstay/out of status" alien and I am afraid to travel with my AP even though I may really need to travel soon for 2-3 wks.

If any of you has overstayed their visa and travelled using AP card/document plz share your travel experience both leaving & returning and which airport, it will be very helpful to know whether it's a hassle or easy to re-enter.

Also: Do you show your passport upon departure? Or just the travel document is enough? Which airlines recognise AP. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to be pm me as well.

I have, did it a few times, posted it a few pages back. It was very smooth with no issues. I have overstayed plus I was arrested, that still didn’t prevented me from going or being denied entry into the US

Update;

i got my 3rd prima facie which was issued in November and expired in January. This one is only good for 60 days and not the regular 180 days. It did say I will get an update from them by the end of this Prima Facie.

@Juju2521 that's good, I thought about it but heard so many mixed reviews, my attorney had also advised against travelling while the adjudication is pending. Because of that I only applied for the EAD and not AP when I renewed it in September. I may apply for the AP at a later date depending on how long this process takes.

Well once you’re using AP you will be subject to secondary screening. The process is smooth; the CBP rep takes you to the secondary room, you sit and wait for your name to be called and answer any questions truthfully. Then they stamp your passport with a “Parole Since” stamp with arrival date. They asked if I was ever arrested and I respond Yes and he asked what for and I said counter claim of domestic abuse. Then he gave my passport back and said welcome back and have good day.

This happen 3 times twice at JFK and once at FLL.

i flew to my home country for 4 days

DR for 5 days

Bahamas for 4 days

I found your previous post and quoted it above to save the OP from having to go and search. Very useful information.

@Juju2521  Thanks for sharing, this is encouraging;I see you're a New Yorker too; I will probably have to go through JFK.

I also got my 3rd prima facie 60 days expiring in 01/2018 & praying for a good outcome.
