Not appearing at my interview

Hello. I mistakenly  sent an adjustment of status application based on my father's petition while I was in the USA with my tourist visa. USCIS accepted the application. My current lawyer says that probably they made a mistake since my priority date is not current. 

After I talked to her, she recommend me to send a withdrawal letter and to leave the country, which I did. But now, I got my interview appointment letter scheduled for September 21 and I don't know what happened with the withdrawal letter that I sent.

She suggests me to send them another letter to the USCIS field office where I have scheduled the interview and explain them that I won't appear to the interview and tell them I already sent a withdrawal letter. Also saying that I will apply for an immigrant visa when my priority date gets current. 

Do you agree with that suggestion?

Or should I do nothing at this point?

send another withdrawal with reference to the apointment and get delivery confirmation. also call uscis up and tell them your withdrawing the application. also don't expect to be able to use your visitor visa again since you have shown immigrant intent.

Thank you for responding.  Where should I send the new withdrawal,  to the office where I apply for benefits or to where my interview is scheduled?
