My husband and I filed for AOS after being married. We got a text saying our case was received on July 26. We later received NOAs for AP and EAD. The problem is, we NEVER received a notice for AOS. My husband called USCIS and was able to get a receipt number from them. He said, we never received a notice and they said they would mail it. That was last week. We called again today and the officer said he wasn't able to do anything, that we should fill out a service request online. We are very concerned that we may have missed some VERY important information on the NOA...(biometrics) because we still have not received a notice. Here is our current case status:

"On July 26, 2017, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

What instructions are in the notice? What action can we take when 2 phone calls and 35 days later, we still haven't received the copy of this letter?

There is really no use for the NOA1 to be honest other than to serve as a receipt that your packet has been received. You may or may not wait for it or request to have it, it is entirely up to you.

And you will be sent a separate notice for the biometrics.

Totally agree with @TheSkywalkers...all you need is case numbers and you got them and create a account on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do and save your receipt numbers and keep tracking. I guess you should be receiving your biometrics anytime now.

Not true, depends on where you live. The NOA1 for the I-485 served as proof and proper documentation for me for a one-time 120-day extension of the validity of my driver's license, because my driver's license was only valid up until the final day of my I-94 in GA, and as a result this allowed me to continue driving up until I received my EAD, which then I was able to file for yet another extension based on the validity period of my EAD card. If it wasn't for that one-time extension, there would have been a few months where I would not be allowed to drive.

We called again and figured it out. Last tier 2 officer a week ago said nothing had been sent out. Called again and our biometrics appointment was on August 17. The reason why we never got a notice?? They MISREAD what I wrote as my apartment number on my application. It is D4. Whoever processed our application put our address as 04. I am soooo maddddd. 😡
