Hi all.

I have received my green card since April 2017. It has been a 6 month journey and I wanted to just posted a few linesabout theI 864w form. This is used if you qualify not to file the affidavit of support I 864.

I did have to search high and low and found few up to date threads on this matter. Hopefully my post can help someone else who is in a similar situation as I was.

I qualified to file an I 864w because I worked in the US for over 16 years and have more than 40 credits in social security to not need my petitioner , loving husband to file an affidavit of support. He would not any financial responsibility for me as I good provide support ( if that is the correct word) for myself.

Rare situation but there will be others out there.

Worked legally under NAFTA and so obtained enough social security credits and all I provided to USCIS was a copy of my social security statement which included my years worked, credits obtained and that I never applied for SS or government aid. I did pay for and have a certified copy of the statement but was never asked for it at my interview.

The I 864w form can be used for those of us who qualifies.

Pm me if you have questions on this topic.
