Weather and interview on Memphis office

My hearts goes out to the people who have literally lost their lives and loved one and houses and possession from Harvey. 

 

Ok. I'm getting ahead of myself. My wife's interview is on Friday at Memphis office. We are gonna be driving there Friday early, early morning from about 4 hours away. There's warning of flash flood and other weather warning. My question is if we start going and half way there, it seems like we cannot make it without risking our lives or that of others, what do we do? I'd think we get to safety first and then call to reschedule. Is it as easy as that? Memphis office is right next to a huge river. If the office gets closed, how do we find out the office is closed? And would the rescheduled interview or how do we get our interview rescheduled. 

 

 

Edit: Here's what I found out. There's a number for Memphis Office (I assume for all offices a number like this exists) to call before going to make sure the office is open. I'll be calling them before leaving my house. Or as soon as they open. And I'll call them about half way there to make sure nothing changed. Hopefully, I can go to the interview with my wife safely and come back safely.

Day 00 - 12/23/2016: Sent N-400 + I-942 to Phoenix, AZ lockbox via USPS.

Day 03 - 12/26/2016: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 25 - 01/17/2017: Sent email to support regards to application.

Day 26 - 01/18/2017: N-400 rejected because incorrect payment amount.

Day 32 - 01/24/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent.

If you Then
Are scheduled for an interview or biometric services appointment and the USCIS office you have been scheduled for is closed USCIS will automatically reschedule as soon as possible.

 

Looks like they'll reschedule interview date automatically if they closed. I will still call and make sure. Lot of good and relevant info.
