Writing Immigration Forms

My husband and I have been downloading the forms online, filling them out, and then printing them. 

 

However, on some pages, it won't let us fill out some of the blanks, so we have been printing them and filling them in handwritten with black ink. 

 

Can we do this? Have both printed black ink and handwritten black ink on the same page?

It depends on the form used. Some forms are 2D barcoded. As you type the responses, the information is put into the barcode at the bottom of the page. This then gets scanned in by USCIS instead of being hand-typed. The issue with those forms is that if you fill them out electronically and then write in some answers by hand, USCIS may just scan it and miss the handwritten data (potentially resulting in an RFE).

Use adobe, other programs gave me the same issue plus only with adobe I could solve the barcode issue on the forms (with other programs it wasnt  creating a bar code)
