EAD/AP Combo card on different dates?

Hey guys! I have a question that popped up in my head as of late and I haven't been able to find an answer online. Here's the thing, I applied for AoS (filing I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765) back in july, PD July 11th 2017. Got my NOA's about a week later but got a Rejection Notice for the I-765 because according to the USCIS I didnt attach the proper fee for the form, which boggled my mind because you don't need a fee for it when concurrent filling with the AoS packet. Anyways, after much research and a call to the USCIS in which they confirmed we didnt have to pay a fee for it in that situation we sent the form again a few days later with a cover letter and the copy of my AoS NOA to prove we don't need a fee for it. The form was consequently accepted and its PD is now August 3rd. Anyways (that was too long haha sorry):

 

I'm worried I wont get a EAD/AP combo card because they both now have different receiving dates. Do you guys know if that will be the case? Has anybody been in this situation? Any help will be great =D

Why would the receiving date matter?

It has happened to others, @Scandi, for example - and it will process normally, don't worry.

Thank you for the info! I was wondering about the receiving date because at the USCIS website, they state they have to be filled at the same time 

 

" You must file the Forms I-765 and I-131 at the same time in order to receive an EAD and Advance Parole card. Please ensure that you enter your name and address identically on Forms I-765 and I-131 that you file concurrently in order to receive the new card"

 

That got me wondering so that's why I went to search about it =) I guess they mean in terms of filling them on the same process.

I'm surprised they worded it that way, link?

You can file it as long as you have a pending i-485: Form i-765 instructions:

 

"NOTE: If you filed Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of July 30, 2007, and you paid the Form I-485 filing fee, no fee is required to also file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the Form I-765 with your Form I-485, or you may submit the Form I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of Form I-485 as of July 30, 2007."

Maybe the same person answered the Q/A as received your case file..

You should still receive them both on the same document.

Hahaha, yeah it's just the waiting game after filing all this stuff makes you second guess everything hahaha.. specially with the stupid way the Form I-765 was rejected in the first place, it makes me question if the process might go astray or whatever...

It doesn't matter if you send I485 now and I131 after 2 weeks with NOA1. The receiving date is not important, what's important is your biometrics. Once you finish your biometrics (this is for I4-85 & I-765) your cards will arrive in appropriate working days.

They say to file i-131 and i-765 together to in the end get the combo card. My i-765 was rejected so naturally it had a different date than i-131 and i-485. That resulted in me getting my AP in April and my EAD in May, no combo card.

It's very possible, yes. Is that a problem though? The only thing I thought was annoying was that if Had been been travelling it would've been so easy to only have the credit card sized combo card in my wallet, but with the AP document I would've had to bring that extra piece of paper that doesn't fit in a wallet and would probably get all wrinkled up and stuff when travelling.

Apart from that it's the same thing, and you get two AP documents too, so you can bring one when you travel and still have another document at home.

Apart from that it's the same thing, and you get two AP documents too, so you can bring one when you travel and still have another document at home.

It's not a big problem, it's just a matter of getting things done more efficiently =) I'm planning on traveling first anyways before applying for a job cause I havent been to my home country in 2 years, but I also wanted to renew my driver's license before it expires and for that I'd need the EAD so I just wanted to get those things out of the way before I can travel, but yeah, it's not a major issue, that's for sure =)
