i need help please.

I am trying to pay the visa fee online and it shows First available appointment is September 13, 2017. Once i hit the "make payment button" the next page is schedule appointment. Now my concern is my lawyer told me that she will schedule the appointment on my behalf. Can i make the payment and not choose an appointment date or i can only finish the whole transaction if i will do the appointment myself.

If your attorney has said that, perhaps you should discuss with her before you proceed with anything. Since you'll be making payment, might as well let her know you'll book the interview yourself.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

thank you for the prompt response @KULtoATL. I have to wait for my lawyers email before i proceed with the payment. I don't want to mess up the process.

Generally speaking, once the embassy has received your case file, you can complete the DS-160 and make a payment without an issue and remember to keep your receipt. If you want things to start moving along instead of being stuck, definitely contact your attorney to nudge them.

As for appointment scheduling, this part would highly depend on how your embassy process the submission of required documents and the application. Some embassies only send out a Packet 3 and the applicant will need to gather the required documents and then only schedule an interview appointment and medical. Some other embassies require submission of the required documents listed in Packet 3 beforehand before they would send a Packet 4 with the interview appointment letter.

Regardless, you can definitely complete the DS-160 and make the $265 visa fee payment first :) Congrats on the NOA2 and good luck with your interview!!

I am done with the DS-160 online (my lawyer processed it on my behalf and just received an email confirmation about it). I just don't get the reason why everything needs to be consulted or done with the lawyer even if i have the option to do it myself. Yes, it actually slows down the process because we have to wait for their response and the fact that there is a huge difference about the timezone this makes me soooooo pissed off.

Don't be pissed off   :)  You are very close to getting a visa. Call the attorney and speak to him/her and be firm about wanting to proceed with the interview scheduling yourself. Are there any red flags in your relationship that you guys chose to use an attorney for the I-129F petition filing and K-1 visa application? Are you billed every time you consult them on each step or you only pay a lump sum fee?

Everything was paid for the lawyers fee last May. Yes, there was a red flag and we needed to consult a lawyer about his situation but everything was fixed and we are very happy because the law firm did a good job in presenting our case with all the evidences provided by us.
