Hey there!

New this forum and hope I can have some of my many questions answered or have some light shed onto them.

Recently got engaged to my fiancé, who is a U.K. Citizen, we've been going over all of the k1 stuff together, and our case is pretty simple, neither of us have any criminal records, would have no problem verifying the validity and realness of our relationship etc, etc. My one concern is with proving my income qualifications to sponsor him for the k1 visa. I've recently started a new job (5 months ago) that will allow me to income qualify just above the minimum requirement. However, this will probably not reflect in this coming years tax return and obviously not the years prior either. Will they be able to go based off of just my pay stubs or will they also play into factor my previous year tax returns? Is it possible that this will hold us back in regards to the k1 process? Thanks in advance! :)

London is a pretty easy going embassy for the I-134.  They have even allowed UK citizens to self sponsor.  Your timeline isn't filled out so I'm unsure if you have filed or not yet, but as the going rate is about 4-8 months, you should be more than fine providing that many pay stubs for the interview.  Current income is what counts and London doesn't really care about past income.

Include both pay stubs as far back as you can go as well as a letter from your employer indicating the job is not temporary. That should cover it. Your fiance will have a chance to talk to the c/o and explain the support document at the interview.

Include your recent tax transcript (and W2 if you have) as well, just because they like seeing that.

As was mentioned, have your fiance self-sponsor themselves (London is one of the few that allows this), and if you're really very worried, start looking for a co-sponsor that can help you out. If you get a co-sponsor, no need to really worry about any of the above.

At a London K1 interview, they will not be concerned with your previous tax returns. Get an employer letter. Send photocopies of pay stubs as extra backup. Nothing more will be needed.  You won't need a joint sponsor if you can show your current income exceeds 100% of the poverty level.

As far as your fiancé self-sponsoring, if you're a young couple as most on here are, he probably doesn't have tens of thousands in cash to show or own a home he is selling.

A tax return/transcript is not needed for a London K1. They will approve with an employer letter alone. They won't even look at you funny for not bringing a tax return.
