Hello guys,

as I mentioned on the title of this topic, it has been passed 4 months since they updated my I-485 form status online to ' Case is ready of be scheduled for an interview'. I started my process on March 06 of 2017. My process is for adjustment of status through marriage to a US citizen. I have already done fingerprint and received my employment authorization. I was wondering how long it usually take for applicants to receive their interview date? I always thought it would be mailed within 3 months from the fingerprint date.

Do you guys think that is normal to wait 4 or more months on the interview date notice? My service center is Chicago.

It is normal. Some are rather quick, and some are so slow.

It depends on your field office, not your service center. If your field office is loaded with cases, then expect a backlog. Some people have been waiting for over a a year now without any news at all.

For now, since you have a work permit, focus on jobhunting and spending more time with your better half. The time would pass by and before you know it, you have a shedule for the AOS interview OR it could also be waived.

Best of luck!
