Failed Medical Exam

Hello All,

My grandmother had to take the sputum test when she went for her medical examination and they said the reports come after 2 months. Do we let the consulate know about the failed medical exam? Do we have to go to the interview  on the scheduled date? not sure what to do with the current date, to go or to not go at all?

You're not required to let them know, but the visa won't be issued until a clean medical result is sent. The sputum testing will take 60 days for the cultures to come back negative. But they could come back positive, then a 6 month treatment is needed. Since the visa is only valid for 6 months from the medical or the interview (whichever is sooner), it's best (IMHO) to cancel the appointment then re-schedule it once she has a clean medical. I'd say tomorrow morning when you call ustraveldocs also address this issue with them so that you can get a later interview date.

Go for the interview.  Visa will never be issued till medicals are submitted. Once medicals come in, you may submit along with passport.
