So we are asked to mail via empost original passport of applicant and some other documents. Is it safe to mail the original passport to the embassy? Which I can do today itself. Or do you guys think that we should go in person on Sunday (a few days later) to give the documents and the passport in person to the embassy?

submit through empost and make sure you register it as someone have advice you earlier ,you will be fine ,taking it there on working day will be good but they will still ask u to register it with empost and before you will be allow inside you 've to show proof that they ask u to go ,with that ,I think it is better you submit it through empost

did you travel from dubai after you got the pcc in November 6th?I am sure you did and that is the reason why they ask for a new one,I 've gone through this before and I 've seen alot of people who 've use a PCC that is more than 3months ,put your head up as you AP will soon be over once you send the updated  PCC

My spouse went for the interview today. Got there at 6:30 a.m. but didn't get to the interview window until 11:15 a.m. It was busy. General questions were asked, how do you know your spouse? Where spouse lives in USA? Does spouse live with family? Who are the members of the family of spouse? Which city you guys got married in? When was the last time spouse visited applicant? Have you guys lived together? Is this your first marriage? Asked for tax return. Went through the Affidavit of Support we submitted to NVC. Asked about spouse's employment. Gave green slip with request to submit tax return form 1099 for last year (didn't consider looking at W-2 for 2016 although we had it). At the end, CO said submit tax return 1044 and passport to embassy via empost.

Thank you to all those who have answered my questions. We will submit tax return information by today or tomorrow maximum. Hopefully that will be all they want from us.

this is the reason they ask you for a new pcc otherwise you would 've been fine even if it was 11 months old provided you are still in  UAE

Does it matter if I (petitioner, usa) filed the taxes for 2016 with marital status of Single? I told my CPA to put it as Married but he filed it as Single.

I don’t think It does.  I filed as single too and my husband got approved.
