They require the Emirates ID, and it is better to have a print out of the one you have received by email.

Ok thanks. I think your case is different though as I live in Dubai, not Abu Dhabi.

I live in Dubai as well and my resident is issued from Dubai  as well.

Are you taking the print of the emailed police clearance from Dubai police? I got to know there is no way of getting original and emailed is the one we can get only.

My interview experience:

First i had a pre-interview.  The lady asked for my passport, my passport size 2 photos, marriage certificate, birth certificate, medical report, police certificate, and I-864 Affidavit Support.  After i gave them all these required documents, they told me to have a seat and wait and that someone will call me for fingerprint scanning.  Once the fingerprint scanning was done, i had to wait again for about an hour.  (none of my documents were attested in UAE btw, also my police certificate was from Abu Dhabi and it was the original one that was mailed to me through empost)

Then they called me for the actual interview to a private room.  My interviewer was a young American lady.  First she asked me how i got married.  Since i had a joint sponsor, they asked me who that was. Then she asked about spouse's family, siblings, and their jobs.  She also asked about my education background, my job here in U.AE, my spouse's job in U.S. , how long i've been in U.A.E., if i've visited any other countries, any prior marriages for both of us, any kids, how long my spouse has been in U.S., what city my spouse lives in, how many times and when did we see each other, when and where was our wedding, and how we communicate and how often we communicate with each other.  That's all i can think of right now.  Pretty much just basic stuff that we should be able to answer easily if it is a true marriage.

After all the questions, the lady gave me the Spousal abuse and rights pamphlet to read.  She was looking through the documents while i was reading.  Also she didn't ask for any pictures or any other proof of evidence.  I had a lot to show her.  Then she told me that they will deliver my passport through Empost.  So i asked her if my visa got approved.  That's when she said congratulations and that i have been approved.  She gave me a paper and this is what it says:

"Congratulations on the conditional approval of your visa.  We still have some work to do to finalize your case, and it is possible your case will need additional time for processing.  Within two to three days you will receive an email regarding your passport pickup at Empost.  If you have any questions, please contact the visa call center."

Congratulations to the ones who got approved! SO happy for all of you. you must be so thrilled! Wishing you the best of luck, and hoping that you are united with you loved ones very soon inshAllah.

I have a question for those who had their interview.

I have organized my husbands documents in a 3 ring file and labeled each document. I also labeled all the extra things like proof of domicile and tax documents etc. I put them in the order of the checklist that was on the link for abu dhabi. Will the consular ask for the documents one by one? Or can my husband just hand the whole file to them. The way I have organized it, should make everything very straight-forward for the CO. It might even make it easier for the CO to take the whole file and review it themselves rather than making my husband take out each document and handing it to them.

Can someone please explain the document procedure to me in detail? I would truly appreciate it!

best of luck the ones who have their interview tomorrow and in the upcoming days! praying that you hear good news inshAllah!
