Hello all.. Our CC date for our IR1 is 10AUG17 and still waiting for interview.  I see there's people who's CC date is before me still didn't get any word on an interview.  Me and my wife currently reside in the U.A.E. and would like to know what the process is to expedite due to a surgery that our infant daughter needs.  We have all the scans and paperwork from the surgeon in the UAE and had some consultation done also in the USA with a pediatric hospital.  I've read in some other threads that we need to email nvcexpedite@state.gov to request an expedite?  Other threads say that the NVC doesn't process expedite request and that the embassy does.  Can anyone with knowledge about this please advise what the process is to request an expedite?  Thanks

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! i AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS! Wallah I feel as if my own date has come! I am really happy that your misery is almost over!!! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU WHO GOT THE INTERVIEW DATE! please tell us every detail of what happens at the interview!!!

Thanksss so much dear! Hopefully you get your date sooon. The priority date does not matter if you are a Cr1 category. The time process from CC date until interview is what matters & seems to be 8-9 months wait here in Abu dhabi. It will be 9 months and a half for me !

I don't  think so the time process from cc date until interview is what matters.  I know lots of people who had an interview in Abu dhabi after three months waiting. I heard if your spouse was a citizen the whole process usually would take 1 and half years. Although there is an exception...

you'd have the apply for expedite through NVC and they forward the request to the embassy who decide. i think instructions are available on visa journey.

Can someone please explain the purpose of Priority Date to me. I am still confused about it. I thought IR1 CR1 cases dont have priority date. My lawyer also told me that I dont have a priority date. He told me that my case will be current. But people with priority dates after me have gotten their interview before me.

MY NOA 1 was on October 6th 2016. (technically my priority date)

Does this give my case a preference over other cases that have started after mine?

Can someone please clarify this for me?

Heyy!

i don’t think priority date matters. I just mentioned it just to mention is basically! I think sometimes if you’re priority dates is really early, sometimes they might take that into consideration when scheduling interviews. But again, i’m just assuming this, not sure at all. I believe what matters is case complete date. :)
