@Simon&Jen hello. do you have any update on your case? any news from embassy?

Hi @babypj. None so far. Still waiting for the packet 3. Your ceac status had just changed to ready right? I would advise you to relax for now. This is me speaking from experience. I risked booking the interview a month after my ceac status went ready and I got turned away. My case was not yet in the system. They could see my case number but they couldn't download it. I guess it is safe to wait  2 months after the ceac status is ready before doing anything. Still,it is safe to wait for the packet 3. Your call. Those who risked it and got through was in this time frame. You are lucky to have this information. So yes, you can relax for now.

Sorry to hear that. :(

If it will make you guys feel better, a friend just got her packet 3 yesterday, September 3 after 2 months and 27 days of waiting.

That was what I was telling everyone. Don't schedule it if you don't have the packet 3 yet. What worked for others may not work for you. I waited for 26 days for my packet 3 last year.

Did you have to pay for the visa fee again? I hope not.

I wish you the best!

I received the reply yesterday morning. Informing me that I can go ahead with the interview. My fiancè got the packet 3 email around 5am his time. (Around 4pm our time).

Congratulations on the interview :)

When did they give you the interview date for?

I expedited my interview appointment and booked the date myself on the website and got turned away at the interview yesterday because I hadn't received my appointment letter yet. Was heartbreaking.

They told me I should receive the appointment letter this week and to do the missed appointment thing. So just want to guage the time frame.

My visa is the CR 1 though.

Hi there.thank you! We got the email last September 4th. In K1 visa they only give you the notification to go ahead with the scheduling and medical exam. It is you who will book the interview schedule online. I don't know if the same goes for CR 1? Well yes, i can understand how you feel.. i got turned away too 😞 my file was not yet in the system( that's a month after we were notified by nvc to proceed with the interview) i went there and took a risk and got turned away. Anyway, at least we tried right? And now we are moving forward.. goodluck on your interview! 😊

When is your new interview date ?

In the case of expedite for CR 1 you have to schedule your own interview

NOA2 is automatically extended to another 4 months if there was no action made by the applicant to get the medical done and interview conducted. So if you do not receive your packet 3 on the date when the NOA2 expires, no need to worry, you're still good.

NOA2 is automatically extended to 4 months if no action was taken by the applicant within the dates noted on the NOA2.

@TheSkywalkers if the NOA2 validity is extended for another 4 months, will they ask the applicant (either the beneficiary or petitioner) any valid reason for such extension? In cases like Packet3 not received yet and the NOA2 expires the "fault" is not on the end of the applicant so the extension might be valid. But what if in different cases like the beneficiary could not process all the necessary requirements within the given validity date?

Yes, it is the petitioner who's going to receive it. :)

They may or may not ask for the reason but if the reason is valid, then you should be fine. Especially if the reason why you were delayed in proceeding with the process is not your fault but the fault of the system (packet 3 being delayed).

You MAY be questioned if you failed to have all requirements despite having the 4months extension. If the reason for the delay is because you failed to have all pertinent documents for the interview or something, 4 to 8months is a hell lot of time to have everything processed. Moreso 8months.

What requirements are you talking about exactly that would be delayed for such a very long time?
