Giving a 3 months notice may prove to be difficult for you. I would advise you not do anything until you have your visa in hand because you could be denied, or be put in AP for some time. Unless you have savings to live on for some time in case this were to happen.

indeed it is difficult..at first I was thinking of putting my 3 months notice once i have the Packet 3 but within that given validity i would have only a month to gather all the necessary requirements because I am not allowed to go on daily leaves if i'm in my 3 months notice 😔...how i wish i can do immediate resignation once i have the packet 3 but i am not allowed to do so..staying in UAE would not be a problem coz my parents are here and i am under father's visa...it's just that the wait will be even felt longer coz nothing will keep me busy..

I just hope there's any way where we can ask  the embassy if our file is already in their system. I guess for Manila this is possible but here in UAE it is not. :(

@Xie_xong yes i already asked my fiancè to double check his email. We both haven't received anything from the embassy yet. I called their call center several times, same thing they're telling me.. "to wait for the letter" it has been 46 days since our CEAC status became "ready" . He did send an email to the embassy last night but it was an auto reply :( thanks for the info about the automatic 4 months extension for noa2 but we are hoping that we won't reach that point. :(

indeed! In Manila, they can schedule for the interview as long as the case is READY..why can't UAE do that? Well rules are rules and all we can do is wait...I wish you don't have to wait any longer @Simon&Jen ..Patience is indeed a virtue.

Definitely want to wait for packet 3, we filed in Cairo, ours came via email after one week. We did however email the embassy after a few days to ask them about it and then they sent it to us.

Hi db2016..could there be a possibility that for Simon&Jen's case, the US embassy-UAE sent the packet 3 to a wrong email? or even mistype some letters of the email..?

possibly or just didnt at all. i dont know what the situation is with the US embassy in the UAE, but I like you, wanted to move forward.  But after talking to my fiance, realized it is better to do it step by step. but like I mentioned, emailing the embassy doesnt hurt. We emailed them this past Friday and heard back yesterday, Tuesday. We sent them all the required docs today. So now waiting for them to receive our docs, confirm, and then we will pay for the visa and schedule our interview.

They will follow whatever e-mail are on the forms submitted. So if they send it to the wrong e-mail, you could trust that it is because that is what's on the forms.

Hi!....As what I have understood you have a copy of the Packet 3 but this copy of Packet 3 is not yours right? Does the main reason why we need to wait for packet 3 is to make sure that your file is in Abu Dhabi right? As to what i understood also is that (correct me if I am wrong) I may not be able to request for UAE Police clearance if I don't have a letter from the requesting party:(

the packet 3 is only "yours" because it is sent to your petitioner's email address and has your case number in the subject line. but apart from that the packet 3 contents is the exactly same for everybody, it is a copy and paste template. now whether receiving it means your case is in abu dhabi - who knows really? everybody here on VJ will tell you that as soon as your case says ready on the CEAC tracker, that means your case file IS already in the hands of your embassy.

I would suggest that you wait for it instead of getting 'too excited' to book the interview only to be turned away by the embassy once you get there as per your appointment.

Some people got lucky and went through the interview without a fuss even without the Packet 3, some were not so lucky and had to go back home and probably pay for it again, who knows.

But I will not risk being turned away just because I couldn't wait.

Don't think that I am saying this because I am not in your shoes. I WAS ONCE IN YOUR SHOES AND I WAITED, TOO. And don't tell me that I am only saying this because I am already done with the process. I know how it sucks to wait for something you have no idea when are you gonna get, but Packet 3 is there for a reason. If it is not required, then why are they telling the applicant to wait for it before doing anything? Yes, during my time, I called 4x and spoke to different people and all of them told me to wait.

And FYI, consulates vary in policies. In Manila, Philippines, you can go ahead and schedule the interview or go through the medical exam once the status on the CEAC tracker becomes READY.

BUT NOT IN UAE.

The Abu Dhabi US Embassy follows a different set of policies, such as this Packet 3 thing.

If you choose to take a risk and do it without the Packet 3, your call. It may be like a template sent out to all the K1 applicants but still, it is there for a reason.

I have a friend whose case was ready in June 7. And they got their Packet 3 just today - September 4. 3 days shy of its 3rd month from being Ready.

You processed in the UAE so it is only right to abide by the rules of how it works for K1 applications in the country where you filed for.

If you couldn't be patient enough to wait for the packet 3 alone, how are you gonna deal with all the waiting for AOS? That is a much more complicated process. You may be with your loved one by that time, but still, waiting is waiting and it sucks not being able to do anything but stay at home because you cannot work yet.

My friend was at the verge of losing hope but I told her to wait and she did. I am glad she did. It paid off and she is now worry-free.

Immigration process is all about patience. I wouldn't tell you to wait if that is not the right thing to do.

But like I said, it is your call. You can go ahead and do whatever you want, schedule the interview, do the medical exam and take a risk.

But this is what I have always told every K1 applicant from UAE that I encountered. Wait for the Packet 3 before doing anything.

Ready status on the CEAC tracker does  not mean that the papers are there. It isn't the same for all consulates.

Best of luck everyone.
