Hi there! I am Ahra age 19 and a college student. Me and my boyfriend,22 and works for the military,  planned that I will come visit him in the US next year to meet his family, we have been dating for 9 months and he visited here in the Philippines last May. I really want to meet his family get to know him more so maybe one day after college I can settle with him but the problem is there is a lot of stories I see on google that they got denied cause of this and that. as a college student I'm not capable of supporting myself neither my family so my boyfriend will financially support me in and out the US. Would having an Invitation letter coming from him or his parents support the approval of my Visa application?

Open for suggestions😊

Invitation of letter will hurt, not help.

You need to show sufficient ties to the Philippines and enough money to support your visit yourself.

Chances are slim to none for a student with no money and a US boyfriend.

No, you don't need an invitation letter and it would probably hurt your case.

You need to apply on your own merits. Going to college and doing well in college is already a plus. It does not mean you will get it but it is a tie to your country and a reason to go back (finish degree).

Let us know how you get on.

Hindi po, a invitation letter will do more harm than good. Honestly at this point in time it does not look good but the worst that can happen is they say no, so go ahead and apply. This is a common misconception in the Philippines and a few other countries that invitation letters will help someone's case, when in reality they don't help in fact they can harm it.

Where in the Philippines are you from if you don't mind me asking? My asawa is from Davao.

That is for immigrating.

Nothing contradicts.
