Naturalization after 7 years of marriage

I am sure this is on here somewhere, but I'm having the darndest time confirming!
 

My husband immigrated here in 2009 on a K1 visa. He's had a green card since then (all deadlines met, including removing conditions). We finally are ready to have him apply for citizenship. Can anyone confirm whether or not we need to provide evidence of our marriage's legitimacy (tax filings, marriage license, birth certificate, commingled finances, etc.) with his application? Or does that only matter if you are taking advantage of the 3-year green card-to-citizenship application window?

It's not required to provide it with your application, albeit they can still request relationship evidence under the 5 year rule.

try to provide your :-

1) marriage certification 

2) 3 years taxes 

3) any joint bills and bank statements .

4) if you have kids together include their birth certificate !

Wait--so I DO need to include this, even though he's been a green card holder for longer than 5 years?!

I am GC holder since 2008 and included everything when I applied  , and brought all originals to the interview but he didnt ask for anything other then passport"s and GC ,

but I would bring everything better save then sorry

Nope... I mailed my N400 after being married and being a green card holder for 11+ years.  All I had to send in the way of evidence was a copy of my Green Card.

No, it's not required.  At the very least, bring documentation to your interview, is my suggestion.

Put it this way---it's better to have something on you that the IO asks to look at, then not have it.

 

I've been a GC holder since 2005...I do plan on bringing "extra stuff" in case something is asked for.  One lady on VJ who filed under the 5-year rule said she was asked to produce her own birth certificate during the interview recently (it's not one of the required documents and she was fortunate to have it with her).

 

It all depends on who you get and how stringent the IO wants to be, I would imagine.

I agree that you should at the very least bring all these documents (tax return, marriage certificate etc) to your interview.  if they ask for it, then you have it. If they don't then no problem. I applied for N400 under 5-yr rule also (GC holder since 2011) but I still included the documents above in my application and plan to bring also for my interview (whenever that is scheduled).

Since I applied under the 5 year rule, if I remember correctly, i sent a copy of my marriage cert and tax return transcripts. during my interview, the IO didn't ask for anything else aside from my GC & passports..
