My case status finally updated to "New Card Is Being Produced" today.

I never received any other updates, my case status had only ever said "Case Was Received" before now. It seems that the expedite process is pretty inconsistent in terms of what each person experiences.

Congrats! Thanks for the update. Hoping mine will be approved in a day or two; our expedites are two days apart lol... but not sure if it's actually works that way.

I am just surprised how delayed your EAD/AP process has taken place. Albeit I do understand USCIS is now facing many challenging workloads (intensive H1B reviews, mandatory interviews for all Employment based I-485, and revoke of DACA), isn't it why they increase the fee significantly, insisting that the increased filing fees will promise USCIS to timely process applications? This is just too much and frustrating as well.

Anyway, hope you get your EAD/AP processed soon!

@xillini

exactly what I was thinking. Plus the whole thing with Houston and giving them priority is probably a part of it now too. But 3 weeks to give a decision after SR was raised is still a little too much I think.

Also, even more frustrating, my 485 changed to ready to be scheduled for interview while the one thing I asked to expedite is still just sitting there. Won't see the interview for awhile though since I'm in Dallas

The Dec. 2016 fee increase was to cover ongoing costs. It was their only fee increase in prior 6 years. The average fee increased at only 2-3% per year on average...it's just that it hit all at once so it appeared to be quite large.
