that differs from country to country, i would recommend you searching for discussions that are already taking place or have taken place here on VJ specific to Haiti. My fiance's interview is in Cairo and we have to schedule our own appt.

After NVC it gets sent to Haiti.  Looking at my timeline looks like it took 11 days for the embassy in PAP to receive it. CEAC status changed to ready and I received packet 3 in the mail in the USA- my husband (then- fiancé) never received documents in Haiti. I scanned them and emailed him what I received as some of it was in French. That has the information for the medical which I believe the doctors are only located in Port au Prince.

After a few days he picked up his medical report-cd and sealed envelope. I went to Haiti and brought more documents proving our relationship- plane tickets, passport stamps, photos, call logs, western union receipts etc .. I had no way of mailing him anything so that is why I went to Haiti to give him the documents. We then scheduled the interview ourself via online and had to attach the confirmation of interview to the packet and we handed it in at some place in Port au Prince...it was so hard to find and I don't remember what it was called but I'm sure it was in the packet 3 I received from the embassy. I eventually went home and flew back about 2 weeks later to attend the interview w my husband.

Thanks a lot, I'm guessing things must have changed because they no longer allowed the petitioner to attend the interview.

Wow, I would have been so nervous if I couldn't attend the interview but that's just me. I can't remember if they asked for an affidavit of support but I know I definitely included it and the supporting documents (pay stubs, bank accounts etc) The packet 3 from the embassy will state the required documents needed. I know we needed his birth certificate - I would suggest start getting that done if he doesn't have a copy of it yet- documents In Haiti can take time to receive- we also got a police report even though he has no record- I'm unsure if it was required or not but I wanted to cover all my bases.
