hey everyone

wasnt really sure whether to post this in the k-1 visas section forum or this one...my apologies

My question is:

Im a Canadian living in canada, me and my significant other are planning on filing the k-1 visa for me to move to california to be with him.

However, im currently taking a online course (to get certified in something, just getting a certification only) and I was wondering if I would need a school visa of some sort if I got my k-1 visa before I was even finished my online course.

Im wondering what if I get my k-1 visa and approval to move to the USA but am I able to still take my current online course while residing in the USA or do I need to apply for a student visa while im in the USA with my k-1 visa?

(hope that made sense)

Thanks so much for any input!

You don't need a student visa. You can study, that's fine. You just cannot work whether online or offline, paid in monetary form or in lieu.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
