Guys.

When did you have a test after filling out n400? Month? Week? Year?

Didnt start to read the book yet. Thinking about if I should read book first, and then send docs, or should i send it and read in the same time.

Thanks.

Do you know if it is 3 years exactly or 90 days before 3 years?

90 before, but give it a couple of days just for safety. There was a VJ member who ran into a hiccup because of the computer dates while filing early on that day 90.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

I had my ceremony last Thursday and they said to check with Social Security in about 2 weeks to confirm that the status has been updated. I don't have to do anything.

A sheet that comes in the packet you get at your ceremony says you must update your social security record after 10 days. The woman who spoke at the podium said that as well.

It'll be 5 weeks tomorrow and still no oath, but my husband's interview was in May.

I don't know what their logic is.

Does it matter if we update social security record or get passport first? We kind of want to get my husbands US passport first in case an emergency would come up where we would need to fly to the UK.

I took my Citizenship Certificate down to the local Social Security office the following day after my ceremony (1.5 hour wait grrrr). They were able to find the info on their computer system that day. Like wise for my wife, except we took hers down 2 days after her ceremony. Now, when you apply for your passport, they keep your Citizenship Certificate with the application and send it back around the same time as your passport. I took a color copy and B&W copy before I went to the local passport office (in Rochester MN it was at the Government Center). The lady at the passport office about 2 weeks ago, said they were currently running 6-8 weeks for standard processing. Getting expedited processing was quite a few dollars more. So it may make sense to do the Social Security first. I also got a passport card. $30 more, good for 10 years and another form of Government ID with picture. I use it now for plane travel, as I don't have an enhanced MN driver's License.

Cheers

For me it was 3 weeks (which was faster than most, mine was at the Riverside Center - 1000 people at the ceremony plus guests).

For my wife it was about 7 weeks (at the Landmark Center in St Paul - 120 people plus guests).

Which social security office did you have to go to? So it's not updating the record but more like confirming?
